To register for Benazir Nashonuma you need four things: a valid CNIC, a pregnancy screening at a registered health facility, a valid NADRA Family Registration Certificate (FRC) for the child, and a valid immunisation card from the Expanded Programme on Immunisation (EPI). BISP's own page lists all four, and BISP has said an immunisation certificate is now mandatory for registration.

Families lose weeks at the facilitation centre because one paper is missing. We read BISP's Benazir Nashonuma page and a BISP press release on 22 October 2026. This guide lists the papers, who qualifies, what the stipend is and why the immunisation card has become the paper that matters most.

You qualify if you are in Kafaalat and pregnant, breastfeeding or have a child under two

BISP names three conditions. First, a pregnant woman at any stage, or a breastfeeding woman, aged 18 to 59, who is already enrolled in Benazir Kafaalat. Second, a child under two who is the child of a Kafaalat beneficiary. Third, living in an area chosen for the programme rollout.

BISP says Nashonuma now runs in 158 districts, with 558 Nashonuma centres (including mobile units) and 169 Nutrition Stabilisation Centres. If you are not in Kafaalat yet, start with our note on updating your NSER survey.

Four papers needed for Benazir Nashonuma registration: CNIC, pregnancy screening, FRC and immunisation card

Four papers decide whether you can register

The table sets out each paper, who issues it and the common problem. The "common problem" column is our reading of what goes wrong, not BISP's wording.

PaperIssued byCommon problem
Valid CNICNADRAExpired card
Pregnancy screeningA registered health facilityScreening done at an unregistered clinic
Family Registration CertificateNADRAChild missing from the FRC
Immunisation cardEPICard not stamped for the doses due

The FRC is the NADRA record that lists the family. A child who is not on it cannot be registered. Our guide to the NADRA family registration certificate shows how to get one, and the note on fixing a wrong FRC covers a missing child.

BISP has made the immunisation certificate mandatory and is linking it to the national registry

BISP press release 33, dated 28 April 2026, says submission of immunisation certificates has already been made mandatory for beneficiary registration. The Chairperson met the polio eradication focal person to link Nashonuma with the National Electronic Immunisation Registry (NEIR), so that children of BISP families are fully covered.

Both sides agreed to build data-sharing, and technical teams will settle the details. The release gives no date and no description of what happens to a child whose record is incomplete. So an up-to-date card is the safe course. Our baby vaccination schedule shows which doses fall due when.

Benazir Nashonuma quarterly stipend for a pregnant woman, a boy and a girl under two

The stipend is paid every quarter and tied to health visits

BISP lists Rs 3,500 a quarter for a pregnant woman, Rs 3,500 for a boy under two and Rs 4,000 for a girl under two. The page says the programme pays up to Rs 42,500 per beneficiary, but it does not explain how that total is worked out. A child leaves the programme after the second birthday.

Payment depends on health compliance. BISP lists regular antenatal and postnatal visits, eating the Specialised Nutritious Food as advised, routine immunisation on schedule, and quarterly growth checks for children under two. Our report on withheld Nashonuma payments explains what a missed condition can cost.

  1. Check that your Kafaalat enrolment is active on 8171.
  2. Get the pregnancy screening done at a registered facility.
  3. Take the child's immunisation card to the health worker and have missing doses recorded.
  4. Confirm the child appears on your NADRA FRC.
  5. Carry the CNIC, FRC and card to your nearest Nashonuma centre.
Five steps to get ready for Benazir Nashonuma registration

Why a missing paper can delay the first payment

Nashonuma pays only after enrolment is complete and later payments depend on health visits. A woman who arrives with a CNIC but no immunisation card, or with a child missing from the FRC, may be sent home to fix the paper first. The delay is one more trip, and for a family far from the centre that costs money.

Pregnancy is the one paper you cannot prepare years ahead. BISP asks for screening at a registered health facility, so book the first antenatal visit early. Ask the health worker to write the date on the card or slip you receive, and keep it with the CNIC.

For a child already born, take the immunisation card to the EPI centre and ask the vaccinator to record every dose given so far. If the card is lost, ask the centre whether it can issue a replacement from its register. Our measles vaccination note explains one of the doses that is often missed.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 22 October 2026. We read the Benazir Nashonuma page on the BISP site and BISP press release 33 on 22 October 2026. The page gives no step-by-step registration process, helpline or centre addresses, and we did not visit a centre. The helpline number is from BISP's site header.
