The gold rate in Pakistan on Monday 12 October 2026 is Rs 439,936 per tola for 24 karat and Rs 377,174 per 10 grams. The All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association cut the rate by Rs 2,100 a tola, ending a run of three rises.
Monday's fall follows the international market. The ounce price dropped 21 dollars to about 4,174 dollars. Silver slipped too, by Rs 23 to Rs 6,532 a tola.
We could not read the rate at source. The association has no website we could find, so every rate below is its figure as reported on 12 October. The previous rate was set on Saturday 10 October. Sunday had no new session.

The 21 karat and 22 karat tola figures are simple fractions of the 24 karat rate. Your jeweller's own quote can differ by a few hundred rupees. A gram of 24 karat now works out at about Rs 37,717.

The Rs 2,100 fall ended three rises in a row
Gold rose on Thursday, Friday and Saturday of last week, then fell on Monday. The tola rate is now Rs 1,000 below its Friday level and Rs 2,100 below Saturday. It is still Rs 3,600 above the rate of Saturday 3 October.

- 7 October: down Rs 3,100 to Rs 434,436.
- 8 October: up Rs 600 to Rs 435,036.
- 9 October: up Rs 5,900 to Rs 440,936.
- 10 October: up Rs 1,100 to Rs 442,036.
- 12 October: down Rs 2,100 to Rs 439,936.
One fall does not make a trend. The rate is still inside the Rs 434,000 to Rs 442,000 band it has held since 5 October.
Gold is Rs 26,200 below where September began
At Rs 439,936, gold is Rs 1,700 under the 30 September rate of Rs 441,636. It is Rs 26,200 under the rate of 1 September, a fall of about 5.6 per cent. Early October buyers are close to level. September buyers are still behind.

These are metal values on paper. A seller also loses the making charge and the gap between a shop's selling and buying rate. That gap is often larger than a day's move.
A weaker ounce price pulled the tola rate down
The Pakistani rate follows the international ounce price, turned into rupees per tola. The ounce fell 21 dollars, so the tola rate fell. The rupee inside the rate barely moved.
A tola is 0.375 of an ounce. At 4,174 dollars an ounce, a tola of gold is worth about 1,565 dollars. Divide Rs 439,936 by that and you get about Rs 281 per dollar. It was the same figure on 10 October.
That Rs 281 is our own sum, not a rate you can trade at. The State Bank put the dollar at Rs 276.97 interbank on 12 October. The local gold rate sits about Rs 4 above that.
Buyers and sellers should fix the rate date before they pay
Shops quote the association rate, plus their own charges. A rate can change in the next session, so a quote from this morning may not hold this evening. Ask which rate the shop is using and on what date.

- Ask for the gold rate and the making charge as two separate figures.
- Check the karat stamp. 916 means 22 karat and 875 means 21 karat.
- Get the weight, karat, rate and making charge written on the bill.
- If you are selling, ask for the shop's buying rate first. It is lower than the association rate.
A written bill also matters for tax. The sales tax on gold jewellery is charged on the sale value, and the bill is your record of what you paid. Silver buyers can do the same sum with the tola rate and purity of their pieces.
