The gold rate in Pakistan on Friday 9 October 2026 is Rs 440,936 per tola for 24 karat and Rs 378,031 per 10 grams. The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association raised the rate by Rs 5,900 a tola, the biggest one-day rise in October so far.
Gold had already edged up Rs 600 on Thursday. Friday's jump followed a 59 dollar rise in the international ounce price, to about 4,184 dollars. Silver also rose, by Rs 144 to Rs 6,512 a tola.
We could not read the rate at source. The association has no website we could find, the same gap we have noted on every gold report since mid September. Every rate below is the association's figure as reported on 9 October. Friday's session has ended, so these are the closing rates for the day.
The gold rate in Pakistan is Rs 440,936 a tola on 9 October
Gold is Rs 440,936 per tola and Rs 378,031 per 10 grams for 24 karat, the association rate reported for 9 October 2026. Silver is Rs 6,512 a tola. International gold was reported at about 4,184 dollars an ounce. All four are higher than on Thursday.

| Rate | Set on 9 October | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| 24K gold per tola | Rs 440,936, up Rs 5,900 | Association rate, reported |
| 24K gold per 10 grams | Rs 378,031, up Rs 5,058 | Association rate, reported |
| 22K gold per tola | About Rs 404,191 | Our arithmetic, 22 parts in 24 |
| 21K gold per tola | About Rs 385,819 | Our arithmetic, 21 parts in 24 |
| Silver per tola | Rs 6,512, up Rs 144 | Association rate, reported |
| International gold | About 4,184 dollars an ounce, up 59 dollars | Reported |
The 22 and 21 karat figures are simple fractions of the 24 karat rate. A jeweller's own 22 karat quote can differ by a few rupees. A gram of 24 karat works out at about Rs 37,803.

These are metal prices only. A shop adds making charges and a margin on top. The tola and karat arithmetic behind every rate list is the one we used here.
Gold rose Rs 6,500 in two days
Thursday's session added Rs 600, taking gold from Rs 434,436 to Rs 435,036 a tola. The 10 gram rate rose Rs 515 to Rs 372,973, and silver fell Rs 120 to Rs 6,368. Friday then added Rs 5,900. Together that is Rs 6,500 in two sessions.
- 3 October: Rs 436,336 a tola, the rate in our 4 October report.
- 5 October: up Rs 1,200 to Rs 437,536.
- 6 October: no change, Rs 437,536.
- 7 October: down Rs 3,100 to Rs 434,436, as set out in our 7 October report.
- 8 October: up Rs 600 to Rs 435,036.
- 9 October: up Rs 5,900 to Rs 440,936.
So the whole of Wednesday's fall has been undone, and more. Gold is now Rs 4,600 above the Saturday 3 October rate. A single strong day does not tell you where the next session will go.

Gold is still Rs 25,200 a tola below its 1 September rate
Friday's rise is large, but it does not reverse the past five weeks. Gold started September at Rs 466,136 a tola. At Rs 440,936 it is still Rs 25,200 lower, about 5.4 per cent, by our arithmetic.
| Compared with | Rate then | Change to Rs 440,936 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 September 2026 | Rs 466,136 | Down Rs 25,200, about 5.4 per cent |
| 26 September | Rs 450,936 | Down Rs 10,000, about 2.2 per cent |
| 30 September | Rs 441,636 | Down Rs 700 |
| 2 October | Rs 440,636 | Up Rs 300 |
| 7 October | Rs 434,436 | Up Rs 6,500 |
In plain terms, gold is back to roughly where it stood at the start of October. Anyone who bought on Wednesday is ahead. Anyone who bought in early September is still behind.
A higher ounce price pushed the local rate up
The Pakistani rate follows the international ounce price turned into rupees per tola. The ounce rose by 59 dollars to about 4,184 dollars, so the local rate rose too. The rupee figure behind the rate stayed close to Rs 281.
A tola is 0.375 of an ounce. At 4,184 dollars, a tola of gold is worth about 1,569 dollars. Divide Rs 440,936 by that and you get about Rs 281 per dollar, the same figure we have found on every report since 26 September.

That Rs 281 is our own sum, not an exchange rate you can trade at. The State Bank put the 8 October dollar rate at Rs 277.01 interbank. Because the implied Rs 281 has not moved, the rise came from the ounce, not from the rupee.
Buyers should ask which day's rate the shop is using
On a day with a Rs 5,900 jump, the date of the rate matters more than usual. A shop quoting Thursday's Rs 435,036 to a seller, or Friday's Rs 440,936 to a buyer, is using whichever rate suits it. Ask before the jeweller starts weighing.
- Note the association rate and the date it was set.
- Ask for the gold rate and the making charge as two separate figures.
- Check the karat stamp. 916 means 22 karat and 875 means 21 karat.
- Get the weight, karat, rate and making charge written on the receipt.
- If you are selling, ask for the shop's buying rate first. It is lower than the association rate.
The receipt also matters for tax. The sales tax on gold jewellery is 3 per cent of the sale value, and a proper bill shows what you paid.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked at about 5pm PKT on 9 October 2026, after Friday's session. Gold rates change every session, so check the day's rate before you buy or sell.
We could not read the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association rate at source, because we found no website for it. The 8 and 9 October tola, 10 gram, silver and ounce figures are the association's figures as reported on those days. The 1 September to 7 October rates are from our earlier reports. The 22 and 21 karat rates, the per gram rate, the changes over the week and month and the implied rupee per dollar figure are our own arithmetic.
