The gold rate in Pakistan on Wednesday 7 October 2026 is Rs 434,436 per tola for 24 karat and Rs 372,458 per 10 grams. The All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association cut the rate by Rs 3,100 a tola, so gold is now at its lowest in this week's reports.
Tuesday's session did not move gold. Wednesday's session took Rs 3,100 off it. The international ounce price also fell, by 31 dollars to about 4,119 dollars, and silver lost Rs 100 to Rs 6,488 a tola.
We could not read the rate at source. The association has no website we could find, the same gap we have noted on every gold report since mid September. Every rate below is the association's figure as reported on 7 October. The day's session has ended, so these are the closing rates for Wednesday.
The gold rate in Pakistan is Rs 434,436 a tola on 7 October
Gold is Rs 434,436 per tola and Rs 372,458 per 10 grams for 24 karat, the association rate reported for 7 October 2026. Silver is Rs 6,488 a tola. International gold was reported at about 4,119 dollars an ounce. All four are lower than Tuesday.

| Rate | Set on 7 October | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| 24K gold per tola | Rs 434,436, down Rs 3,100 | Association rate, reported |
| 24K gold per 10 grams | Rs 372,458, down Rs 2,658 | Association rate, reported |
| 22K gold per tola | About Rs 398,233 | Our arithmetic, 22 parts in 24 |
| 21K gold per tola | About Rs 380,132 | Our arithmetic, 21 parts in 24 |
| Silver per tola | Rs 6,488, down Rs 100 | Association rate, reported |
| International gold | About 4,119 dollars an ounce, down 31 dollars | Reported |
The 22 and 21 karat figures are simple fractions of the 24 karat rate. A jeweller's own 22 karat quote can differ by a few rupees. A gram of 24 karat works out at about Rs 37,246.

These are metal prices only. A shop adds making charges and a margin on top. The tola and karat arithmetic behind every rate list is the one we used here.
Gold fell Rs 3,100 after a flat Tuesday
Gold fell Rs 4,300 on Saturday 3 October, rose Rs 1,200 on Monday, did not move on Tuesday and fell Rs 3,100 on Wednesday. That leaves it Rs 1,900 below the Saturday rate. It is the lowest rate in the list below.
- 2 October: Rs 440,636 a tola.
- 3 October: down Rs 4,300 to Rs 436,336, the rate in our 4 October report.
- 5 October: up Rs 1,200 to Rs 437,536, as set out in our 5 October report.
- 6 October: no change, Rs 437,536, as in our 6 October report.
- 7 October: down Rs 3,100 to Rs 434,436.
The 10 gram figure fell by Rs 2,658, and silver fell by Rs 100. A flat day followed by a fall is common. It does not tell you where Thursday will go.

Gold is now Rs 31,700 a tola below its 1 September rate
Gold started September at Rs 466,136 a tola. At Rs 434,436 it is Rs 31,700 lower, about 6.8 per cent, by our arithmetic. It is also Rs 16,500 below the Rs 450,936 rate of 26 September.
| Compared with | Rate then | Change to Rs 434,436 |
|---|---|---|
| 1 September 2026 | Rs 466,136 | Down Rs 31,700, about 6.8 per cent |
| 26 September | Rs 450,936 | Down Rs 16,500, about 3.7 per cent |
| 30 September | Rs 441,636 | Down Rs 7,200 |
| 2 October | Rs 440,636 | Down Rs 6,200 |
| 3 October | Rs 436,336 | Down Rs 1,900 |
So Wednesday's fall ends the pause. Gold has now spent five weeks drifting lower, and the last quiet day did not last. We do not know the reason behind any single day's move, and we do not guess at one.
A lower ounce price pulled the local rate down
The Pakistani rate follows the international ounce price turned into rupees per tola. The ounce fell by 31 dollars to about 4,119 dollars, so the local rate fell too. The rupee figure behind the rate stayed close to Rs 281.
A tola is 0.375 of an ounce. At 4,119 dollars, a tola of gold is worth about 1,545 dollars. Divide Rs 434,436 by that and you get about Rs 281 per dollar, the same figure we found on every report since 26 September.

That Rs 281 is our own sum, not an exchange rate you can trade at. It sits a little above the State Bank's interbank dollar rate, which is normal. The 7 October dollar rate shows that rate was almost still, so the fall came from the ounce, not the rupee.
Buyers should ask which day's rate the shop is using
If you buy on Thursday morning, a fair rate is Wednesday's Rs 434,436 until a new session is reported. After that, it should be Thursday's rate, which may be higher or lower. Ask before the jeweller starts weighing.
- Note the association rate and the date it was set.
- Ask for the gold rate and the making charge as two separate figures.
- Check the karat stamp. 916 means 22 karat and 875 means 21 karat.
- Get the weight, karat, rate and making charge written on the receipt.
- If you are selling, ask for the shop's buying rate first. It is lower than the association rate.
The receipt also matters for tax. The sales tax on gold jewellery is 3 per cent of the sale value, and a proper bill shows what you paid. Rate websites often show an old number under today's date, so match the figure to the session date before you agree a price.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked at about 8:45pm PKT on 7 October 2026, after Wednesday's session. Gold rates change every session, so check the day's rate before you buy or sell.
We could not read the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association rate at source, because we found no website for it. The 7 October tola, 10 gram, silver and ounce figures are the association's figures as reported that day. The 26 September to 6 October rates and the 1 September rate are from our earlier reports. The 22 and 21 karat rates, the per gram rate, the changes over the week and month and the implied rupee per dollar figure are our own arithmetic.
