How to Share Balance on Zong

To share balance on Zong, dial *828#, enter the other Zong number and the amount, and confirm. Zong calls this service Yaari Load. You can send Rs 10 to Rs 200 at a time, up to 5 times a day, and you must keep at least Rs 5 in your own account. Both numbers must be Zong prepaid. Zong's page lists a price of Rs 5. To ask someone to send you balance, dial *829#, which Zong says is free.

We read Zong's Yaari Load page and its zero balance page on 22 September 2026. *828# is still the code Zong publishes. Some websites give other limits, such as a "Rs 200 daily limit". These are not on Zong's page, so treat them as unconfirmed.

Zong balance share rules at a glance

Zong's page shows the Rs 5 price in its own box but does not spell out whether it is charged on every transfer. Plan as if it is. So sending Rs 100 costs you about Rs 105 of balance.

How to send balance with *828#

1. Check your balance first. You need the amount, plus the charge, plus Rs 5 left over.
2. Dial *828# from your Zong prepaid number.
3. Enter the other person's Zong number when asked.
4. Enter the amount, from Rs 10 to Rs 200.
5. Check the number and amount on the screen, then confirm.

You do not need to subscribe first. Zong says you can use Yaari Load whenever you need it.

Check the number twice. We found no way on Zong's page to reverse a transfer sent to the wrong person.

How to ask for balance with *829#

If you are the one out of balance, dial *829# and enter the number of a friend or family member on Zong. They get a request and choose whether to send. Zong says the request service has no charge. This is useful because it works even with no balance at all.

Zong lists other zero balance options on its "You've run out of balance" page. Yaari Call lets you call another person and have them pay: dial 11 before their number, for example 1103101234567. Zong's advance loan on *911# gives a small advance with a fee.

Balance that cannot be shared

This catches many people. Not every rupee in your account can be sent. Zong's page splits balance into two kinds:

• Can be shared: balance from a scratch card, from a Zong Load e-PIN at a shop, and from an online recharge.
• Cannot be shared: built-in balance that came with a SIM or handset, built-in balance of Golden or Book Your Number numbers, advance loan balance, balance someone already shared with you, and promotional, redeemed or refunded balance.

So if a friend sent you Rs 100, you cannot pass it on. And if your balance is from an advance loan, *828# will not let you send it.

How to check the transfer worked

1. Zong's page says both people get a confirmation SMS.
2. Check your own Zong balance on *222#, the balance code on Zong's payment methods page. It should have dropped by the amount plus the charge.
3. Ask the other person to check theirs.

When *828# does not work

• One of you is postpaid. Zong says the service is for prepaid only, both sender and receiver.
• The other number is not Zong. Zong says it is Zong to Zong only, even if the other network has a similar service.
• You are in the former FATA or PATA areas. Zong's page says customers there are not eligible.
• You are on a dealer, employee or franchise tariff. Zong excludes these.
• You have already sent 5 times today. Wait until tomorrow.
• Your balance is the wrong kind. See the list above.
• You would drop below Rs 5. Send a smaller amount.

If none of these apply, call 310 from your Zong number. Zong's contact page says a call connected to an officer costs Rs 2 plus tax.

Other ways to send Zong balance

Gift a bundle. Zong's page says you can buy a bundle for another Zong number through *310#, option 7. Both people get an SMS. Zong says you cannot pay for a gift bundle from Yaari Load balance, but you can from advance loan balance.

My Zong App. Zong says the app lets you share prepaid balance with your other Zong prepaid numbers, and recharge any Zong number by card, Easypaisa, JazzCash or its Z Wallet.

Online recharge. If the person is far away and you have a bank card, Zong's online recharge site takes Rs 50 to Rs 20,000 per transaction. This avoids the Rs 200 limit.

Watch out for balance request scams

A common trick is an SMS or call saying "I sent you balance by mistake, please send it back". Check your own balance before you send anything. If no money arrived, nothing is owed. Report such numbers to PTA.
