iOS 27.1 Released for iPhone Duo Only: Other iPhones in Pakistan Stay on iOS 27.0.1

Apple released iOS 27.1 on 23 October 2026, but only for the iPhone Duo, its new foldable. Every other iPhone in Pakistan, from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, stays on iOS 27.0.1 for now, and that is the version to install today. So if your Software Update screen shows no iOS 27.1, nothing is wrong with your phone or your PTA status.

We read Apple's security releases page and Apple Newsroom on 24 October 2026. Apple's page now says, in its own words, that the latest iOS version is 27.0.1, "and 27.1 for iPhone Duo only". The iPhone Duo went on sale at Apple Stores worldwide on the same day, 23 October.

iOS 27.1 is out, but Apple lists it for the iPhone Duo only

Apple's security releases list shows iOS 27.1 as "available for iPhone Duo", released 23 October 2026. The entry notes that the update has no published CVE entries, which means Apple has listed no security fixes in it so far.

That last point matters for anyone worried they are missing a security patch. They are not. A release with no listed CVEs is a device update, here for the Duo's launch, rather than a security fix every iPhone needs. Apple's security releases page is the place to watch for a wider iOS 27.1 or 27.2 release.

Other iPhones in Pakistan should be on iOS 27.0.1

For the iPhone 11 and every newer model except the Duo, Apple's newest release is iOS 27.0.1 from 28 September 2026. If you are still on iOS 27, install 27.0.1 now. If you chose to stay on iOS 26, the matching update is iOS 26.7.1.

Both September updates came out on the same day, and the iOS 26.7.1 fix was serious enough that Apple warned a flaw may have been exploited. The steps to update an iPhone to iOS 26.7.1 cover that case. The full list of iPhones that get iOS 27 runs from the iPhone 11 to the iPhone 18 Pro Max, plus the Duo.

How to check your version and install iOS 27.0.1

Open Settings, General, About to see your current version. To update, plug in, join Wi-Fi, turn off any VPN, then open Settings, General, Software Update and tap Download and Install if iOS 27.0.1 is offered.

1. Open Settings, tap General, then About, and note the iOS version.
2. Back up the phone to iCloud or a computer.
3. Plug in to a charger and connect to Wi-Fi.
4. Switch off any VPN or proxy.
5. Open Settings, General, Software Update and install what is offered.

Load shedding is the local risk here. Start the update when your router has an hour of power, or run it from a UPS. If the phone freezes on the Apple logo halfway through, the steps to fix a phone stuck after an update help. And if you would rather not think about it again, turn on automatic updates so the next release installs overnight.

The iPhone Duo launched on 23 October, with no Pakistan launch

Apple Newsroom says the iPhone Duo arrived at Apple Store locations worldwide on Friday 23 October 2026, with launch events in Austin, New York, London, Mumbai and Shanghai. Pakistan has no Apple Store, and Apple named no Pakistani launch.

So any iPhone Duo in Pakistan will come through importers or travellers, and it needs PTA registration like any imported phone. The estimated iPhone Duo price in Pakistan with PTA tax is about Rs 704,000 on our earlier estimate. A Duo owner should install iOS 27.1 from Software Update like any other release.

For everyone else, the practical takeaway is short. You are not missing iOS 27.1. You are waiting for it, along with everyone outside the Duo club.

When other iPhones will get iOS 27.1

Apple has not given a date for iOS 27.1 on other iPhones. Its security page lists only the Duo release so far. A wider point release would most likely appear on the same page with "iPhone 11 and later" in its "available for" column.

We will not guess a date. Apple publishes nothing in advance, and dates seen on social media are rumours. Check Apple's security page, or simply leave automatic updates on. Updating does not change your phone's PTA status either way.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 24 October 2026. We read Apple's security releases page at support.apple.com/en-us/100100 and Apple Newsroom's 23 October 2026 article on the iPhone Duo arriving at Apple Stores, on 24 October 2026. Version names, release dates and the "27.1 for iPhone Duo only" wording come from Apple's page. Apple gives no date for a wider iOS 27.1 release, so we could not report one.
