Trump With an Offer to China
2nd Time U.S President Donald Trump made a surprising move while speaking from White House Oval Office on 31st March evening. He told China that if they agree to sell TikTok, the U.S will consider reducing tariffs on Chinese goods.
Basically, Trump Said “You give us TikTok, we will give you some trade relief.”
So now, it is not just about TikTok it is about business, politics, trade, and control.
Do You Wanna Know Why U.S Pushing This Hard?
The U.S is worried about user data privacy and national security. United States administration believes that TikTok, being owned by a Chinese company, could share sensitive user data with the Chinese government (though TikTok has denied this over and over again).
To avoid a full ban on Tiktok, ByteDance needs to sell TikTok U.S operations to an American company, Oracle and others are already in talks. Elon Musk was also interested in Buying Tiktok but later denied the rumors.
What If ByteDance Does not Sell to United States?
TikTok could face a total ban in the U.S. And guess what? This time, as both Republicans and Democrats are on the same page about it. Which is very rare. But even Trump, who once called TikTok “fun,” now leadng action against it if it doew not leave Chinese hands.
Will TikTok Be Banned or Not in U.S?
No final decision yet. There is a strong chance the ban might be delayed to allow more time for negotiation, especially if the deal with Oracle or others moves forward.
But one thing is clear: TikTok is at the center of a big tug of war between China, the U.S, politics, and tech.
What It Means for Pakistanis Living in the U.S
If you or someone you know relies on TikTok for content, business, or just entertainment in the U.S, this could be a big shift. If banned, you will not be able to access TikTok unless you use workarounds like VPNs and even that might get complicated.
We even see people selling their phones on higher prices online with tiktok installed when the last ban was initiated earlier 2025.
Is TikTok Getting Banned in Pakistan Too?
Right now, there is no official move to ban TikTok in Pakistan. But it has happened before. TikTok has been temporarily banned in Pakistan multiple times over “immoral content.” So while this U.S issue does not directly affect TikTok in Pakistan. The app always remains under a watchful eye here too.
