A new Jazz SIM starts at Rs 350 in Pakistan, for both prepaid and Postpay. Postpay also needs a refundable security deposit, which Jazz puts at a minimum of Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,100 depending on the page you read. Buy it at a Jazz retailer, franchise or Experience Centre with your CNIC and a fingerprint check. Existing Jazz customers can also order a SIM by dialling *5299# or in the Jazz World app.

We read Jazz's FAQ page and its Process Help Center on 4 November 2026. Both pages agree on the Rs 350 starting price, on instant activation after the fingerprint check, and on who can buy. They differ on two small details, the Postpay deposit and whether a copy or the original ID is needed, and we show both below so you are not caught out at the counter.

Jazz says a new SIM starts from Rs 350 for prepaid and Postpay. A number you choose yourself costs more, by category. Postpay also needs a refundable deposit set by your price plan. Activation is free and happens right after the fingerprint check.

Documents Jazz asks for, by customer type

Pakistani citizens need their CNIC and a fingerprint check in person. Overseas Pakistanis need their NICOP. Foreigners need an original passport with a valid visa. Afghan citizens need the original Afghan card issued by NADRA and a fingerprint check.

Jazz's FAQ says "a copy" of your CNIC or NICOP. The Process Help Center says the original. Take the original with you. A copy alone may get you sent home, while an original will never be refused for being an original.

Foreign nationals and holders of Proof of Registration cards face extra PTA rules on top of Jazz's list. Those are explained in our guide to buying a SIM as a foreigner or Afghan national.

Buy a new Jazz SIM in person, step by step

Go to a Jazz retailer, franchise or Experience Centre with your original ID. Pick prepaid or Postpay and, if you want, a number. Pass the fingerprint check, pay Rs 350 plus any deposit, and the SIM works straight away.

  1. Find the nearest franchise by sending a blank SMS to 7089 from any Jazz number, or use our Experience Centre list.
  2. Take your original CNIC, NICOP, passport or Afghan card.
  3. Choose prepaid or Postpay, and a standard or special number.
  4. Place your fingers on the scanner for the biometric check.
  5. Pay the SIM price, plus the deposit for Postpay, and insert the SIM.
Steps to buy a new Jazz SIM in Pakistan

Jazz says the SIM is activated immediately after a successful fingerprint check. Ten Jazz Experience Centres are listed by address in our Jazz Experience Centre guide.

Order a Jazz SIM online with *5299#

If you already use Jazz, you can order another SIM without visiting a shop. Jazz lists two routes: dial *5299# from your Jazz number, or order in the Jazz World app. Jazz also has an online order page at jazz.com.pk.

Jazz's FAQ does not say how an online SIM reaches you, what delivery costs, or how the fingerprint check is done for an online order. We did not place an order, so we cannot confirm any of those. Keep your original CNIC ready when the SIM arrives, in case the check is done at the door.

Prefer no plastic card? A Jazz eSIM works on supported phones, and its current price is in our Jazz eSIM guide.

Rules that come with a Jazz SIM

Jazz says the SIM always stays its property. You only get the right to use it. You must return it if you stop using the service, end the agreement or move to another network. Jazz also says prepaid balance has unlimited validity on its network.

A few more points matter before you buy:

  • Use it on your own CNIC. A SIM bought on someone else's CNIC belongs to them. Only they can replace it, block it or move it.
  • Check your CNIC count. PTA limits how many SIMs one CNIC can hold. See our guide to checking SIMs on your CNIC before buying another.
  • Moving a number to Jazz has a wait. Jazz says the number must be at least 60 days past activation or an ownership change on its current network before it can be ported in.
