Jinnah Hospital Lahore: OPD Timings and Clinic Days for Every Unit
Jinnah Hospital Lahore OPD runs 8am to 4pm, Friday to 1pm, emergency 24 hours. See which day each clinic and unit sits, what to bring and the phone numbers.

Short answer: Jinnah Hospital Lahore runs its OPD 8am to 4pm, Monday to Saturday, and 8am to 1pm on Friday, under a Punjab government order for all teaching hospitals. Emergency is open 24 hours. Each specialist clinic runs on set days, listed below. The numbers on the Allama Iqbal Medical College site are 042-99231480 and 042-99231441.
Jinnah Hospital is a 1,500 bed teaching hospital in Lahore, run with Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC). It takes referrals from district and tehsil hospitals across Punjab. We read the AIMC site and the Punjab health department's timing order on 10 October 2026.
Jinnah Hospital OPD runs 8am to 4pm, and 1pm on Friday
Punjab's Specialized Healthcare and Medical Education Department fixed OPD hours for all its teaching hospitals in notification No. SO(ME)7-6/2021, dated 23 December 2021. OPDs run from 8am to 4pm Monday to Saturday, including a lunch and prayer break, and from 8am to 1pm on Friday.
Jinnah Hospital is on that department's list of teaching hospitals, so the order applies to it. In practice, arrive by 9am. Registration counters fill up fast, and a Friday visit leaves you only five hours.
| Day | OPD hours |
|---|---|
| Monday to Thursday | 8:00am to 4:00pm |
| Friday | 8:00am to 1:00pm |
| Saturday | 8:00am to 4:00pm |
| Sunday | OPD closed |
| Accident and Emergency | 24 hours |
The notification does not cover Sunday, and the AIMC clinic schedule lists no Sunday clinics. Treat Sunday as emergency only.

Each specialist clinic runs on fixed days
Jinnah Hospital spreads its specialist OPDs across the week. Medicine, surgery, gynae, eye, ENT, skin and bone clinics run every day, but a different unit takes each day. Smaller specialties, such as kidneys, cancer, urology and neurosurgery, run on two or three days only.
If your slip names a unit, such as "Medical III", go on that unit's day. Here is the AIMC schedule for the specialties people ask about most:
| Clinic | OPD days |
|---|---|
| Nephrology (kidneys) | Tuesday and Saturday |
| Oncology (cancer) | Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday |
| Urology | Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday |
| Neurosurgery | Monday and Thursday |
| Maxillofacial (jaw and face) | Monday and Thursday |
| CML clinic | Monday to Thursday |
Some clinics run every day: physiotherapy, radiotherapy, dental, hepatitis, pulmonology (chest), diabetes, psychiatry, HIV, infectious diseases and haemodialysis.

Medicine and surgery units rotate through the week
Jinnah Hospital has four medical units, four surgical units, three gynae units and two units each for eye, ENT, skin and orthopaedics. Each unit has its own OPD day. Follow-up visits should go to the same unit that saw you first.
- Medical units: Medical I on Tuesday and Saturday, Medical II on Wednesday and Saturday, Medical III on Monday and Thursday, Medical IV on Monday and Friday.
- Surgical units: Surgical I on Monday and Friday, Surgical II on Tuesday and Thursday, Surgical III and IV on Wednesday and Saturday.
- Gynae units: Gynae I on Monday and Thursday, Gynae II on Tuesday and Friday, Gynae III on Wednesday and Saturday.
The hospital also lists cardiology, cardiac surgery, endocrinology, plastic surgery, a burn and reconstructive surgery centre and a molecular diagnostic lab for liver disease tests. If a clinic is not in the daily schedule, ask at the main OPD reception for its day.
Bring your CNIC, old reports and the referral letter
To see a doctor, reach the OPD early on the right day, register at the counter, and wait for your clinic to call you. Bring your CNIC, any old prescriptions and test reports, and the referral letter if a district hospital sent you.
- Check your clinic's day in the tables above.
- Arrive by 8am or 9am, earlier on Friday.
- Register at the OPD counter with your CNIC, or the child's B-Form.
- Go to your clinic and wait for your turn.
- Get tests done in the hospital lab or radiology and return with results.
- Keep every slip for your follow-up visit.
Jinnah Hospital is a government hospital. We did not find a fee list or Sehat Card counter on the AIMC site. The current card rules are in what the Sehat Card covers now, and Punjab's other free health programmes beyond the Sehat Card may help with long treatment.

The emergency runs 24 hours with 100 beds
Jinnah Hospital opened a 100 bed Accident and Emergency department in 2005, and it runs around the clock. Go straight there for chest pain, injuries, breathing trouble or a high fever with danger signs. Do not wait for the OPD.
For an ambulance in Lahore, call Rescue 1122, or use the Edhi and Chhipa ambulance numbers. If you are unhappy with treatment, the provincial route is in complaining against a hospital or doctor in Punjab.
The hospital sits close to the M-2 motorway and the N-5 highway, which is why so many patients arrive from other districts.
