Karachi Airport Parking Rates: Rs 110 for 3 Hours, Drop Lane Free

Karachi airport parking costs Rs 110 for every three hours in a car and Rs 50 for each hour after the first three. The drop lane is free. A car lifted from a no parking area pays a fine of at least Rs 400. These are the rates on the Pakistan Airports Authority's page for Jinnah International Airport, which we read on 28 September 2026.

The Karachi airport site loads its pages through a script, so a plain browser without scripts sees nothing. We read the same content from the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) system that feeds the page. PAA's system shows the parking page was last edited on 31 October 2024.

That date matters. The current page lists only the three hour charge and the hourly charge. The day pass and monthly pass that the older official page listed are gone from it. So for long stays, part of this guide rests on the archived official tariff, and we mark where.

Karachi airport parking rates on the official page

A car pays Rs 110 for every three hours and Rs 50 for every hour beyond the first three. The English page lists motorcycles at Rs 25 for three hours with no hourly rate. The Urdu version of the same page still shows Rs 15 and Rs 5.

The two motorcycle figures cannot both be right. Rs 15 and Rs 5 match the older tariff, so the English Rs 25 is probably the newer one. Carry Rs 50 on a bike and you are covered either way.

The car rate has risen. The archived official page from April 2024 charged Rs 90 for three hours and Rs 30 an hour after. The current Rs 110 and Rs 50 replaced it later that year.

What a typical wait costs at Karachi airport

A pickup of up to three hours costs Rs 110. A five hour wait costs Rs 210. An eight hour wait costs Rs 360. Because the page lists no day pass, a full 24 hours at the hourly rate would come to Rs 1,160.

We worked these out from the official rates. The page does not say whether a part hour counts as a full hour, so assume it does.

The Rs 1,160 figure is a worst case. The older official page sold a Rs 400 day pass with multiple entries and a Rs 4,500 monthly pass. The current page neither lists nor cancels them. Ask at the parking office before a long trip, and get the answer in writing on your receipt if you can.

Long stay parking and the car park layout

The car park is directly in front of the Jinnah Terminal Complex, with about 2,000 marked bays run on an automated system. A long stay area in front of the same building lets you park, keep your keys and collect the car after your trip.

Those details come from the archived official page of April 2024. The current page says only that a car park serves passengers, greeters and airport staff, and that a drop lane is also available. Nothing on it suggests the layout has changed.

• Level I: the pick and drop lane next to the terminal building.
• Level II: a quick drop lane for departing passengers.
• Front car park: about 2,000 bays for passengers, greeters and staff.
• Long stay: open all year, in front of the terminal complex.

For a trip of more than a few days, the long stay area is what the airport itself suggests. Just confirm the price first, for the reason given above.

Pickup and drop off rules at Karachi airport

Using the drop lane is free, and the page says so in plain words. Waiting is a different matter. Cars in no parking areas can be lifted to an impound area, with a minimum lifting fine of Rs 400. Pickup is done from the car park.

Every vehicle is searched on the way in. The Airport Security Force (ASF), which guards Pakistan's airports, checks under each vehicle at the entry points and may ask for a CNIC, a ticket or a passport. Build that queue into your timing.

2. Keep your CNIC ready for the ASF check at the gate.
3. Drive into the car park, take a ticket and photograph it.
4. Meet the passenger at arrivals on Level I.
5. Pay before you return to the car, then drive out.

Travellers flying out should arrive 2 hours before a domestic flight and 4 hours before an international one, the airport's entrance page advises.

Who parks free at Karachi airport

The page exempts several groups from parking fees. They include vehicles with green government number plates, ambulances, diplomats, the defence services, the judiciary and journalists with valid press cards. Yellow cabs get free lanes and a parking area. Anybody using the drop lane pays nothing.

The airport manager can also let other vehicles in free. There is no form for that on the page, so for most private drivers the exemptions do not apply.

How Karachi compares with Islamabad and Lahore

Karachi is cheaper than Islamabad for a short pickup and dearer than Lahore's last published rate. Islamabad charges Rs 130 for three hours. Lahore's archived official rate was Rs 90. Karachi sits between them at Rs 110.
