Short answer: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Public Service Commission (KPPSC) has postponed the written exam for Provincial Management Service (PMS) Officers, BPS-17, that was due from 14 to 31 October 2026. The announcement is dated 12 October 2026. It says the exam "will be rescheduled later" and gives no new dates.

The notice sits on the Commission's website as an image, and we read it in full on 12 October 2026. It is short, signed by the Director Examinations, and tells candidates to keep visiting the official website for updates.

The Commission "has decided to postpone" the written exam for PMS Officers (BPS-17) that was scheduled from 14 October 2026 to 31 October 2026. The exam is not cancelled. It will be held on dates announced later.

Summary of the KPPSC notice postponing the PMS written exam of 14 to 31 October 2026

The notice gives no reason and no new dates

The notice does not say why the exam was postponed. It also does not say when the exam will be held. We will not guess at either. Any reason or date you see in a message or video before KPPSC publishes it is unconfirmed.

The notice also says nothing on three practical points. It does not say whether the call letters already issued stay valid. It does not say whether the centres will change. And it does not say whether the optional papers will keep their old order.

Days earlier, the Federal Public Service Commission also postponed tests in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, as set out in the report on FPSC Phase 3 tests postponed in the province. The two notices come from different bodies and cover different exams. Do not treat one as the explanation for the other.

Candidates should not travel to a centre on 14 October

If you are a PMS candidate, the written exam will not be held on 14 October. Do not travel to your centre. Keep your printed call letter, your CNIC and your attested photograph where you can find them, because the Commission has not said whether the letters will be reissued.

  1. Treat every paper from 14 to 31 October as postponed, including the optional papers.
  2. Keep the call letter you printed. Do not throw it away.
  3. Open kppsc.gov.pk each day and read the notices at the top of the home page.
  4. If you need to ask a question, use the numbers printed on the notice: 091-9214131, 091-9213563, 091-9213750 or 091-9212897, extensions 105, 177, 192 and 180.
  5. Wait for a new schedule on the website before you book travel or leave.

Other KPPSC notices are separate from this one

The notice is about one exam. It covers the PMS Officer written exam only. KPPSC's other work, such as interviews and results for other posts, is listed on the same site and has its own notices.

For example, the interview programme for November 2026 and the psychological assessment schedule for Civil Judges are separate items on the home page. The Civil Judge test of 12 October is explained in the report on the KPPSC Civil Judge psychological assessment.

Result and DMC lookups for other KPPSC cases work as before. The steps are in the guide to checking a KPPSC result, DMC and interview letter by CNIC.

What is known and not known after the KPPSC PMS exam postponement notice

How to confirm the new date when it comes

The only source that counts is the Commission's own website. KPPSC posts schedules and notices on its home page and in the schedule section, and call letters appear under E-Letters.

When a new schedule is published, check three things before you plan. First, the date and time of every paper you sit. Second, the centre printed on your call letter. Third, whether the Commission asks you to download a fresh letter.

Do not pay anyone who claims to give early dates. KPPSC publishes schedules free of charge on its site.
