Short answer: Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue 1122) runs a programme called Pak Life Saver. You register on a mobile app or on the cpr.gov.pk portal, study the online CPR material, pass an online exam, then visit a nearby Rescue station or CPR training center for hands-on practice and your certificate.

CPR means cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is the chest pressing and breathing help given to a person whose heart has stopped. In the first minutes after a cardiac arrest, a bystander who knows CPR can keep a person alive until an ambulance arrives. Most people in Punjab have never been taught how.

We read the Pak Life Saver listing on Google Play, the cpr.gov.pk home page and the Rescue 1122 website on 13 October 2026. The listing says the app was last updated on 12 September 2026. The pages we read do not publish a course fee, a course length or a certificate expiry date, so we do not quote any. Check those at your Rescue station.

Pak Life Saver is a Punjab Emergency Services programme

The app listing describes Pak Life Saver as an initiative of Punjab Emergency Services. Its aim is to build a nation of citizens and young people with CPR skills. It uses a mobile app and a web portal together, so you can learn at home first.

The cpr.gov.pk page carries the line "Learn Life Saving Skills and Become a Life Saver". It shows a Login button and says it is powered by PITB, the Punjab Information Technology Board. The Rescue 1122 website also lists CPR and first aid certification at cpr.gov.pk among its community safety training.

The listing names these goals: better survival for people in cardiac arrest, lifesaving skills for the public, and a culture of helping others in need.

The course has three stages: register, study and test, then practise

The listing describes a clear order. You register on the app or the web portal. You read the course material online and take online exams. Only successful candidates go on to hands-on training at a Rescue station or CPR training center, where they are certified.

  1. Install the Pak Life Saver app from Google Play, or open cpr.gov.pk in your browser.
  2. Register yourself on the app or the portal, then log in.
  3. Study the online lifesaving course material.
  4. Take the online exam.
  5. If you pass, visit a nearby Rescue station or CPR training center for hands-on training.
  6. Collect your certificate once you are certified.

The hands-on part matters. Reading about chest compressions is not the same as doing them on a practice dummy with a trainer watching. This is why the online exam is only a gate and not the full course.

Know which Rescue 1122 app does what

Rescue 1122 has more than one app, and the names are close. The Punjab government's official app list shows both. Pak Life Saver is for learning CPR. Rescue Scout is a separate app for Rescue 1122 volunteers.

What CPR training does not replace

CPR is a bridge, not a cure. It does not replace the ambulance. The first thing to do in any collapse is call 1122. The service also runs a free air ambulance for some cases, explained in the guide to requesting Punjab's free air ambulance.

Other first aid skills are worth learning too. A snakebite needs a different response, and it is set out in the guide on snakebite first aid and antivenom. For a regular check up, you can look up a clinic in the list to find a Maryam Nawaz Health Clinic.

Some workplaces and venues must meet safety rules too. A building owner, for example, may need the certificate described in the building safety measures guide. That is a separate Rescue 1122 service from CPR training.

What the Pak Life Saver CPR programme covers and what you must ask your Rescue station

Why a short course is worth your time

Cardiac arrest often happens at home, at a wedding, in a mosque or at work. The person nearest to the patient is usually a relative or a neighbour, not a doctor. A family member who has practised CPR once is more likely to act calmly.

The programme is open to citizens and young people, according to its own listing. It does not say it is limited to adults or to one district. We could not confirm whether every district has a CPR training center, so call your local Rescue station before you travel.

Common questions

Where do I register for the Pak Life Saver CPR course?

You register on the Pak Life Saver app or on the cpr.gov.pk portal. Both are part of the same programme run by Punjab Emergency Services.

Is the whole CPR course online?

No. The study material and exam are online, but the hands-on training happens at a Rescue station or CPR training center. You must pass the online exam first.

How much does the CPR certificate cost?

We could not find a fee on the pages we read. The listing and the portal do not state one, so ask your nearest Rescue station before you go.

How long is the CPR certificate valid?

The pages we read do not say. Ask the training center what validity it gives and when you must renew.

Who can join the CPR programme?

The listing says it targets citizens and young people. It does not give an age limit, so confirm with the center.

Which number do I call in a medical emergency in Punjab?

Call 1122. The Rescue 1122 website lists 1122 as the emergency number and 1192 for lost persons, complaints and feedback.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the CPR portal, the Emergency Services Department website and the Pak Life Saver app listing on Google Play, which the Punjab government's own mobile application page links to. We could not verify the fee, the course length, the certificate validity or which districts have a training center. The registration screens sit behind login, so we did not test them.
