A bowl of popcorn and a folded blanket, for the Netflix too many people error in Pakistan

Netflix says "Too many people are using your account right now" when your plan's screen limit is full. In Pakistan that limit is 1 screen on Mobile and Basic, 2 on Standard and 4 on Premium. Stop Netflix on another device, wait 5 to 10 minutes, and try again. After a power cut mid-film, the stuck stream can take up to 2 hours to clear on its own.

The error turns up most on shared family accounts, where a brother is watching in his room while someone else opens the TV in the lounge. It also appears when nobody else is watching at all, and that version confuses people most. We read Netflix's help pages for each version of this error, and its Pakistan plans page, on 1 November 2026. Below are the screen limits, every error code, the load shedding catch, and when the cause is someone you do not know.

Your plan decides how many screens can play at once

Netflix's Pakistan plans page lists one screen at a time on Mobile at Rs 250 and Basic at Rs 450, two on Standard at Rs 800, and four on Premium at Rs 1,100. A fifth screen on Premium, or a second on Basic, triggers the error.

PlanMonthly priceScreens at onceDownload devices
MobileRs 2501 phone or tablet1 phone or tablet
BasicRs 45011
StandardRs 80022
PremiumRs 1,10046

Netflix adds that taxes may apply on top of these prices. The Mobile plan works only on phones and tablets and does not allow casting or mirroring to a TV, so a family that casts from a phone to the lounge TV needs at least Basic.

The same problem carries several error codes

On a TV you may see code E123 or "Too many people are using your account right now". A computer shows M7121-5006, "Sorry, too many people are watching on your account right now". Other devices show 3-5006 with "Your Netflix account is in use on too many devices".

M7121-5006Computer browserClose other Netflix tabs and windows
3-5006Playback error on other devicesCheck who is streaming, or wait up to 2 hours

On a computer, the most common cause is your own second tab. Close every other Netflix tab and window, then reload the one you want.

Netflix too many people error codes and the first fix for each

Clear the error in 4 steps

Stop playback or close the app on another device using the account, wait 5 to 10 minutes, then try again. If you cannot tell which device is streaming, check recent activity on the account. If the error keeps coming back, your plan is too small for your household.

  1. Ask the household who is watching, and stop Netflix or close the app on that device.
  2. On a computer, close every other Netflix tab or window.
  3. Wait 5 to 10 minutes. Netflix says the slot may not free up at once.
  4. Open Netflix again. If it still fails, check the account's recent devices and Viewing Activity on every profile.

Check each profile, not just your own. Netflix notes that Viewing Activity differs by profile, and the stream using your slot may be on a profile you never open.

Four steps to clear the Netflix too many people error

A power cut can leave a ghost stream for up to 2 hours

When a connection or power failure stops a film, Netflix may not register that playback ended, so the old stream still counts against your limit. Netflix says the error clears on its own but may take up to 2 hours.

Load shedding is the obvious trigger in Pakistan, because it cuts the TV and the router mid-episode. When power returns, the TV says the account is in use though nobody is watching. Waiting is the official fix. On a one-screen plan, you can also stop a phone or laptop that is still streaming on battery, which frees the slot faster.

A UPS on the router does not save you if the TV itself goes off. The stream on the TV still stops without telling Netflix.

Unknown devices on the account mean someone else has it

If the recent devices list shows a phone or TV you do not recognise, someone outside your home is using the account. Netflix says to sign out of all devices, change the password, and check that the email and phone number on the account are still yours.

A friend you once gave the password to counts as well. Netflix's rules say an account may not be shared outside your household, and people elsewhere need their own account. That rule also explains a different message, the Netflix household error, which blocks devices outside your home Wi-Fi.

If upgrading is cheaper than arguing over the TV, the full Netflix price in Pakistan list shows the jump from Standard to Premium is Rs 300 a month for two more screens. Downloads have a separate device limit, and the Netflix download limits differ by plan.

Common questions

How many people can watch Netflix at once in Pakistan?

1 on Mobile and Basic, 2 on Standard, and 4 on Premium.

Why does Netflix say too many people when nobody is watching?

A stream cut off by a power or internet failure can still count. Netflix says it clears on its own within up to 2 hours.

What is Netflix error E123?

It means the maximum number of devices allowed to watch at once on your plan has been reached.

How long should I wait after stopping another device?

5 to 10 minutes, according to Netflix.

Can I cast from the Netflix Mobile plan to my TV?

No. The Rs 250 Mobile plan does not support casting or mirroring.

What does Netflix error M7121-5006 mean?

Too many streams at once from a computer. Close other Netflix tabs and windows, stop other devices, then retry.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 1 November 2026. We read Netflix's help pages Netflix says account is already in use (E123, 5 to 10 minute wait, Premium up to 4 screens), error M7121-5006 (computer steps), error 3-5006 (interrupted playback, up to 2 hours), How to keep your account secure (sign out of all devices) and the Pakistan plans and pricing page (Rs 250 to Rs 1,100, screens and download devices, no casting on Mobile) on 1 November 2026. The Rs 300 gap is our arithmetic. Netflix does not say a UPS changes anything; that line is our own reasoning from its interrupted playback explanation.
