Pakistan play England in the tri-series on 20 October at Rawalpindi, with a 1 pm PKT start listed by the ECB. See both 16 player squads and what is unconfirmed.

Pakistan play England in the second match of the ODI tri-series on Tuesday 20 October 2026 at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) lists the start at 1:00 pm Pakistan time. It is the first time the two sides meet in the series. They meet again in Lahore on Sunday 25 October.
Both squads are on the ECB match page, 16 names each. We opened that page on 13 October 2026. This is a preview from the board's own listing, with what the board has not said yet.
Pakistan v England is on Tuesday 20 October at 1 pm
The ECB match centre lists Pakistan v England as the second match of the Pakistan ODI tri-series. It is at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Tuesday 20 October 2026, with a local start time of 13:00. That is 1:00 pm in Pakistan.
Pakistan open the series two days earlier against Sri Lanka at the same ground. England do not play on 18 October. For the whole fixture list, see the tri-series dates and venues.

Pakistan's 16 player squad is led by Shaheen Shah Afridi
The ECB page lists 16 Pakistan players, including Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah. The PCB named Shaheen Shah Afridi as captain of the ODI side on 5 October.
The ECB lists these names in alphabetical order by surname, not as a batting order. The final eleven is announced shortly before the toss. For the three squads together, see the tri-series squads.
| Role | Pakistan players on the ECB page |
|---|---|
| Captain | Shaheen Shah Afridi |
| Batters | Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Saim Ayub, Hasan Nawaz, Salman Ali Agha |
| Wicketkeepers | Saad Baig, Ghazi Ghori |
| Fast bowlers | Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah, Razaullah, Faheem Ashraf |
| Spin bowlers | Abrar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Arafat Minhas, Sufyan Moqim |
The roles in this table are our own grouping, based on how each player is usually used. The ECB page does not label them for Pakistan.
England bring 16 players including Joe Root and Harry Brook
The ECB page lists 16 England players. They include Joe Root, Harry Brook, Ben Duckett, Sam Curran, Adil Rashid and Jamie Overton. Gus Atkinson, Josh Tongue and Liam Dawson are also named, along with Mason Crane and Henry Crocombe.
England's first fixture after the tri-series is against Australia in Perth on 13 November, also listed on the ECB site. That is the next match for the touring group after Pakistan, so these ODIs are part of their build-up.

Rules to know before the first ball
The ICC ODI playing conditions set three powerplays and two new balls, with at most ten overs for one bowler. These rules apply to every tri-series match. They decide how teams plan the first ten overs and the last ten.
The full list is in the ODI playing rules for the tri-series. The ECB page does not publish its own rules, and the PCB page for this match did not load for us.
How to follow the match
You have three ways to follow the match once the toss is done. We have not confirmed a TV broadcaster, so check the PCB and the ECB before the day.
- Open the ECB match centre page for the match. It shows the squads, the start time and live updates when play begins.
- Check the PCB website and social channels on the morning of the match for the final eleven and the toss.
- If you are going to the ground, read the entry rules first, and carry your CNIC if tickets need it.

Plan your travel early, because a one o'clock start falls on a working Tuesday and city traffic can be slow. Rawalpindi ticket and entry details for the stadium were set out for the T20Is in the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium entry guide. The tri-series rules may differ, so confirm before you travel.
What is still not confirmed
The ECB lists the date, ground and start time. It does not say whether the game is played under lights, who the broadcasters are, or the ticket price for 20 October. We did not read the PCB's own page for this match because it was blocked by a bot check.
The second meeting is in Lahore on 25 October at the same listed start time. We will write about that match when more is published.
