Pakistan Weather Forecast 2 to 8 November 2026: Dry Plains, Snow in the North on 4 and 5 November (PMD, Every City)
PMD expects dry weather in most of Pakistan from 2 to 8 November 2026, snow in the north on 4 and 5 November and morning smog in Lahore. See city temperatures.

Pakistan's weather from 2 to 8 November 2026 will stay dry in most of the country, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) says, with light rain and snow over the northern hills and a stronger spell on Thursday 5 November. Morning fog and smog are likely around Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan. PMD issued the weekly outlook on Monday 2 November. Below: the forecast day by day, city temperatures, and what to plan if you are driving north or live in the smog belt.
We read PMD's weekly outlook, its daily forecast issued at 17:30 on 2 November, and its three day city forecast, all on weather.gov.pk on the evening of 2 November 2026.
PMD expects dry weather in most of Pakistan from 2 to 8 November
Continental air covers most of Pakistan, PMD says, and a shallow westerly trough is touching the north. The plains of Punjab, Sindh and most of Balochistan stay dry all week. The north turns cloudy and cold, with cold nights early in the week.
| Day | What PMD expects |
|---|---|
| Mon 2 and Tue 3 November | Dry in most areas. Light rain or snow over hills at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan |
| Wed 4 November | Cloudy and cold in the north. Light rain, with snow over mountains, possible in Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Chitral, Dir and Swat |
| Thu 5 November | Rain, wind and thunderstorms with snow over mountains at isolated places in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan. Isolated thunderstorms possible in northern Balochistan |
| Fri 6 to Sun 8 November | Dry in most areas. Partly cloudy and cold in the north |
That is a calmer week than the last one for the plains. For the previous outlook, see the weather forecast for 31 October to 5 November.

Rain and snow are likely in the north on 4 and 5 November
The wettest days are Wednesday 4 and Thursday 5 November, and only in the north. PMD expects snow over the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Chitral, Dir and Swat, with rain, wind and thunderstorms at isolated places on Thursday.
Isolated means a few spots, not the whole region. Still, mountain roads change fast in early November. Snow on a high pass can close it for hours even when the valley below stays dry.
PMD's lowest minimum on its 2 November sheet was minus 2°C at Leh, and Babusar was listed at 2°C. Skardu reached 17°C in the day and Gilgit 22°C. Nights in the north will be colder than these daytime figures suggest. Road warnings for the Karakoram Highway, Chitral and Neelum are in northern road risk for November.
Morning fog and smog are likely in Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan
PMD's daily forecast says shallow fog or smog is likely during the morning in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and nearby areas. Dry, still air keeps smoke and dust close to the ground. Visibility is usually worst around dawn and improves by late morning.
This is the start of the smog season, not its peak. The longer view is in the smog forecast for November and December 2026. If you see crop burning or a smoking factory in Punjab, you can report it through the Green Punjab app.
On the motorways, fog can still close sections at night even in a dry week. The sector by sector picture for the Grand Trunk Road is in the GT Road fog update.

City temperatures for 2 to 4 November
Days stay warm in the south and mild in the north. Karachi sits at 34 to 36°C, Lahore at 29 to 31°C and Islamabad at 27 to 29°C on Monday and Tuesday, PMD's three day forecast shows. Wednesday is a degree cooler in most cities.
| City | Mon 2 Nov | Tue 3 Nov | Wed 4 Nov |
|---|---|---|---|
| Karachi | 34 to 36°C, sunny | 34 to 36°C, sunny | 33 to 35°C, sunny |
| Lahore | 29 to 31°C, sunny | 29 to 31°C, sunny | 28 to 30°C, partly cloudy |
| Islamabad | 27 to 29°C, partly cloudy | 27 to 29°C, partly cloudy | 26 to 28°C, thunderstorm |
| Peshawar | 27 to 29°C, partly cloudy | 27 to 29°C, partly cloudy | 26 to 28°C, thunderstorm |
| Quetta | 25 to 27°C, partly cloudy | 25 to 27°C, thunderstorm | 24 to 26°C, thunderstorm |
| Multan | 30 to 32°C, sunny | 30 to 32°C, sunny | 29 to 31°C, sunny |
| Murree | 18 to 20°C, partly cloudy | 18 to 20°C, partly cloudy | 17 to 19°C, thunderstorm |
| Gilgit | 21 to 23°C, thunderstorm | 21 to 23°C, thunderstorm | 20 to 22°C, thunderstorm |
PMD does not label these ranges as maximum or minimum. They match the day maximums on its daily sheet, so read them as daytime highs. The thunderstorm icons for Islamabad and Peshawar on Wednesday do not appear in the weekly text, which keeps the plains dry, so treat them as a small chance only.
The hottest place on the three day sheet is Turbat at 38 to 40°C. Mithi in Sindh is at 37 to 39°C.
Plan ahead if you travel north or live in the smog belt
Most people can carry on as normal this week. Two groups should plan: travellers heading to the northern valleys on 4 and 5 November, and people with asthma or heart conditions in central Punjab during foggy mornings.
- If you are driving to Swat, Chitral, Naran or Gilgit-Baltistan, travel before Wednesday or after Thursday where you can.
- Carry warm clothes, a charged phone and extra fuel, and check road status before you cross a pass.
- In Lahore, Faisalabad and Multan, plan school runs and walks after the morning haze lifts.
- Keep windows closed at dawn on smoggy days, and wear a mask outdoors if you have a breathing problem.
- Check PMD's daily forecast each evening, as the weekly outlook can change.
PMD's own app and alert channel are covered in the PMD weather app and WhatsApp alerts.
