Petrol Price Today in Pakistan, 1 October 2026: Down to Rs 387.40
Petrol is Rs 387.40 and diesel Rs 400.35 in Pakistan from 1 October 2026, both down, on OGRA's own sheet. See the tax per litre, fill costs and 9771 relief.

Petrol costs Rs 387.40 a litre in Pakistan from Thursday, 1 October 2026, down 14 paisa. High speed diesel is Rs 400.35, down Rs 1.89. Petrol has now fallen three days running, and diesel has fallen on nine price dates in a row.
That is the petrol price today in Pakistan. We read the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's (OGRA) price sheet for 1 October at about 5:40am PKT. OGRA is the regulator that works out the fuel price each day. Its sheet gives both new prices, effective from midnight.
Petrol is Rs 387.40 and diesel Rs 400.35 today
From 1 October 2026, petrol is Rs 387.40 a litre and high speed diesel is Rs 400.35. Petrol fell Rs 0.14 and diesel fell Rs 1.89 from the 30 September rates. Both figures come from OGRA's own price sheet, read at source this morning.

| Fuel | 30 September | 1 October | Change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs 387.54 | Rs 387.40 | Down Rs 0.14 |
| High speed diesel | Rs 402.24 | Rs 400.35 | Down Rs 1.89 |
OGRA's sheet for 1 October says "Effective October 01, 2026, 00:00 hours". The 30 September figures in the first column are confirmed too. The Petroleum Division's press release dated 29 September set them at Rs 387.54 for petrol and Rs 402.24 for diesel.
The Petroleum Division had not posted a release for 1 October when we checked. Pakistan State Oil's (PSO) price page still showed the 30 September prices at that hour. OGRA's sheet is the primary record, so we use it.
Petrol fell for a third day in a row
Petrol has dropped on 29 September, 30 September and 1 October. The three cuts add up to Rs 3.90 a litre, from Rs 391.30 on 26 September. Today's cut is the smallest of the three, at 14 paisa.

| Date | Petrol | Change | Diesel | Change |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 26 September | Rs 391.30 | Up Rs 2.02 | Rs 408.53 | Down Rs 3.59 |
| 29 September | Rs 389.03 | Down Rs 2.27 | Rs 404.97 | Down Rs 3.56 |
| 30 September | Rs 387.54 | Down Rs 1.49 | Rs 402.24 | Down Rs 2.73 |
| 1 October | Rs 387.40 | Down Rs 0.14 | Rs 400.35 | Down Rs 1.89 |
Why so small? The sheet shows the cost of petrol landed at Karachi fell by 99 paisa, to Rs 250.24. But customs duty rose 85 paisa, to Rs 25.63. The two almost cancel out. The 26 September prices were the last time petrol went up.
Diesel has fallen nine times since its 18 September peak
Diesel peaked at Rs 424.92 on 18 September. It has fallen on every price date since, nine in a row. The total drop is Rs 24.57 a litre, or about 5.8 per cent. Diesel now costs Rs 12.95 more than petrol.

The gap was Rs 22.84 on 25 September, so it has nearly halved in a week. Diesel runs trucks, tractors and tube wells, so a cheaper litre matters for goods and farm costs.
The two fuels follow different world prices. Petrol follows the Gulf price of 92 octane petrol, which averaged $127.74 a barrel on today's sheet. Diesel follows Dubai crude, which averaged $110.68, plus a fixed "crack" of $41.89. OGRA uses a seven working day average, so world moves reach the pump slowly. That delay is the reason behind why petrol did not fall when oil fell.
Levies and customs add Rs 110.63 to each litre of petrol
OGRA's sheet breaks down the Rs 387.40. The petroleum levy is Rs 80 a litre, the climate support levy Rs 5 and customs duty Rs 25.63. Together that is Rs 110.63 on petrol. Diesel carries Rs 100.68, because its customs duty is Rs 15.68.

- Petrol landed at Karachi: Rs 250.24 a litre, at $143.29 a barrel including freight and Rs 277.31 to the dollar.
- Oil company margin: Rs 7.87 a litre on both fuels.
- Petrol pump dealer's margin: Rs 9.98 a litre.
- Inland freight margin: Rs 7.91 on petrol and Rs 4.15 on diesel.
- Sales tax: zero. OGRA's sheet says petrol is exempt, and it shows zero on diesel too.
The federal government sets the petroleum levy, not OGRA, so it does not move with world prices.
A 200 litre diesel fill costs Rs 378 less than yesterday
A 200 litre diesel fill costs Rs 80,070 today, Rs 378 less than on 30 September and Rs 4,914 less than at the 18 September peak. A 40 litre petrol tank costs Rs 15,496, just Rs 5.60 less than yesterday.

- Bike, 5 litres of petrol: Rs 1,937, down 70 paisa.
- Car, 10 litres of petrol: Rs 3,874, down Rs 1.40.
- Car, 40 litres of petrol: Rs 15,496, down Rs 5.60.
- Pickup, 40 litres of diesel: Rs 16,014, down Rs 75.60.
- Truck, 200 litres of diesel: Rs 80,070, down Rs 378.
These are our own sums at the reference price. A pump far from the main depots can charge a little more, because OGRA's price leaves out the last leg of freight. The running record for each day sits with the daily petrol price in Pakistan.
The 9771 relief brings petrol to Rs 287.40
Bikes, rickshaws and cars up to 800cc still get Rs 100 off each litre with a 9771 token. At today's price that makes petrol Rs 287.40 a litre. A bike token covers 5 litres and a car token covers 10 litres.
We re-read the official portal, pmfuelrelief.pk, on 1 October. It still offers Rs 100 a litre for vehicles registered on or after 1 January 2006, with 5 litres for 7 days on bikes and 10 litres for 10 days on cars.
A 5 litre bike token now costs Rs 1,437. A 10 litre car token costs Rs 2,874. The SMS format and fixes for a missing token are in how to get petrol relief with code 9771.

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 1 October 2026, about 5:40am PKT. We read OGRA's price publications. Its sheet dated 1 October lists petrol at Rs 387.40 and diesel at Rs 400.35, with the full cost breakdown quoted above. Its 30 September sheet lists Rs 387.54 and Rs 402.24. We read the Petroleum Division's press release dated 29 September, which confirms the 30 September prices. We re-read pmfuelrelief.pk for the relief terms. The fill costs, gaps and totals are our own arithmetic. Prices change often, so check the pump before relying on any figure here.
