Petrol Price Today in Pakistan, 20 October 2026: Down to Rs 381.14, Diesel Rs 389.27
Petrol is Rs 381.14, down Rs 5.16, and diesel Rs 389.27, down Rs 7.69, in Pakistan from 20 October 2026 on OGRA's sheet. See why and what a fill now costs.

Short answer: Petrol costs Rs 381.14 a litre in Pakistan from Tuesday, 20 October 2026, down Rs 5.16 from Rs 386.30. High speed diesel is Rs 389.27, down Rs 7.69 from Rs 396.96. Both are the lowest figures on any OGRA sheet this month.
That is the petrol price today in Pakistan, taken from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) sheet that applies from 00:00 hours on 20 October. OGRA is the regulator that works out fuel prices under the daily pricing system. We opened the sheet and the one before it on 20 October 2026. OGRA published no sheet for 18 or 19 October, so the 17 October price of Rs 386.30 ran through the weekend and Monday.
Petrol is Rs 381.14 and diesel Rs 389.27 from 20 October
From 20 October 2026, petrol is Rs 381.14 a litre and high speed diesel is Rs 389.27. Petrol fell Rs 5.16 and diesel fell Rs 7.69 against the 17 October sheet. Diesel's drop is its biggest single move on any October sheet so far.

| Fuel | 1 October | 17 to 19 October | 20 October |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs 387.40 | Rs 386.30 | Rs 381.14, down Rs 5.16 |
| High speed diesel | Rs 400.35 | Rs 396.96 | Rs 389.27, down Rs 7.69 |
Petrol is now Rs 17.82 below its October high of Rs 398.96 on 9 October. Diesel is Rs 11.08 below the Rs 400.35 of 1 October. Diesel is still the dearer fuel, by Rs 8.13 a litre, down from a gap of Rs 10.66 on 17 October. The full run of daily figures is in the list of every OGRA price in October 2026.
A lower Gulf petrol price cut Rs 5.16 a litre
Petrol fell because the world price in OGRA's average fell again. The Gulf petrol figure dropped from $124.39 a barrel on 17 October to $121.44 on 20 October, a fall of $2.95. The freight premium stayed at $18.41, so the whole fall came from the world price.
The cost and freight price per barrel went down to $139.84 from $142.79. The rupee average barely moved, at Rs 277.09 to the dollar against Rs 277.11. In rupees, petrol landed at Karachi now costs Rs 243.95 a litre, down Rs 5.15. Customs duty held at Rs 25.79.
OGRA's sheet says the full effect of a world price change reaches the pump within seven working days. That is because the Gulf figure is a seven working day rolling average. So a fall in world prices last week keeps feeding in for several more sheets, unless prices turn back up.

Diesel fell Rs 7.69 because the diesel crack dropped $3.89
Diesel fell more than petrol because the crack fell. The crack is the gap between the world price of diesel and crude oil. On OGRA's sheet it dropped from $41.89 a barrel on 17 October to $38.00 on 20 October. Dubai crude in the average barely moved, from $108.54 to $108.02.
Those two changes cut diesel's cost and freight price from $156.93 to $152.52 a barrel. Diesel landed at Karachi now costs Rs 266.03 a litre, down from Rs 273.72. Customs duty on diesel stayed at Rs 15.68. How the crack works is set out in the guide to the diesel price formula.
For transporters and farmers, this is the line to watch. A crack of $41 or more had kept diesel high all month even when crude was flat. A lower crack is the first real relief for diesel users in October.
Levies and customs still add Rs 110.79 to petrol
Of the Rs 381.14 petrol price, Rs 110.79 is levy and duty: the Rs 80 petroleum levy, the Rs 5 climate support levy and Rs 25.79 customs duty. That is 29.1 per cent of the price. OGRA lists petrol and diesel as exempt from sales tax, so that line is zero on both.
| Part of the price, 20 October | Petrol, Rs a litre | Diesel, Rs a litre |
|---|---|---|
| Landed cost at Karachi | 243.95 | 266.03 |
| Exchange rate adjustment | 0.67 | 0.00 |
| Customs duty | 25.79 | 15.68 |
| Freight, company and dealer margins | 25.74 | 22.56 |
| Petroleum levy | 80.00 | 80.00 |
| Climate support levy | 5.00 | 5.00 |
| Total | 381.14 | 389.27 |
The petrol rows add up to Rs 381.15, one paisa more than the total, because OGRA rounds each line; the sheet's own total is Rs 381.14. On diesel the levies and customs come to Rs 100.68, or 25.9 per cent of the price. The levy amounts have not changed on any October sheet. To work out the tax in your own fill, use the petrol and diesel tax calculator.

A 10 litre fill now costs Rs 3,811.40
At OGRA's price, a bike fill of 5 litres of petrol costs Rs 1,905.70, and a car fill of 10 litres costs Rs 3,811.40. That is Rs 25.80 and Rs 51.60 less than on 17 October. A 50 litre diesel fill for a pickup or tractor costs Rs 19,463.50, which is Rs 384.50 less.
Your pump may charge a little more than OGRA's figure. The sheet leaves out secondary freight, the cost of moving fuel from the depot to the pump. To check the figure yourself each day, follow these steps.
- Open OGRA's price publications page and pick the sheet marked "Effective Dated October 20, 2026".
- Find "Total Petrol Price (excl. Secondary Freight)" on page 1 and "Total Diesel Price" on page 2.
- Multiply the figure by the litres you buy.
- If your pump shows more, the gap should be small and is the local freight charge.
The routine is explained step by step in how to read the OGRA daily sheet. The previous sheet is in our report on the 17 October petrol price.
Common questions about the 20 October petrol price
What is the petrol price in Pakistan today?
Petrol is Rs 381.14 a litre from 20 October 2026 on OGRA's sheet. That is Rs 5.16 less than the Rs 386.30 that applied from 17 to 19 October.
What is the diesel price in Pakistan today?
High speed diesel is Rs 389.27 a litre from 20 October 2026. It fell Rs 7.69, mainly because the diesel crack dropped to $38.00 a barrel.
Why was there no new price on 18 and 19 October?
OGRA's list has no sheet dated 18 or 19 October. The 17 October sheet stayed in force until the 20 October sheet took over at midnight.
How much of the petrol price is tax?
Rs 110.79 a litre is levy and customs: Rs 80 petroleum levy, Rs 5 climate support levy and Rs 25.79 customs duty. Sales tax on petrol is zero.
Will petrol keep falling?
We cannot say. The price follows a seven working day average of world prices, so recent falls still feed in. A rise in world prices would reverse it within days.
Is the OGRA price the price at every pump?
No. OGRA's figure leaves out secondary freight, the cost of moving fuel to each pump. Pumps far from a depot can charge slightly more.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked 20 October 2026 at about 05:00 PKT. Every price, every line of the build-up and the seven working day note come from the OGRA sheets effective 17 and 20 October 2026, which we downloaded from OGRA's price publications page and read line by line. The 1 and 9 October figures come from OGRA's own sheets for those dates. The changes, tax shares and fill costs are our own arithmetic from the sheets. We could not find a stated reason for the absence of sheets dated 18 and 19 October; OGRA's page simply lists none.
