Changes are in rupees. The State Bank's 21 October sheet was not posted at its usual address, so the 22 October change is against 20 October.

The pound rose Rs 2.56 while the euro fell Rs 4.86
From 30 September to 23 October the pound gained about 0.7 per cent against the rupee, and the euro lost about 1.5 per cent. The dollar fell about 0.1 per cent in the same period, so neither move came from the rupee. Both came from the pound and euro moving against the dollar in world markets.
The State Bank's sheet says non-dollar rates are worked out from the rupee's dollar rate and each currency's world rate against the dollar. Its figures for 23 October imply about $1.338 to the pound and $1.119 to the euro. So when the pound strengthens against the dollar abroad, it costs more rupees here, even if the rupee itself is steady. The rupee's own path is in the October 2026 dollar rate history.
The pound's climb was sharpest in the second half of the month. From its 8 October low to its 22 October high it rose Rs 5.66, about 1.5 per cent, before slipping 83 paisa on Friday.

For families in the UK, that is a better month to send money home. For anyone paying a bill in euros from Pakistan, such as a €90 Schengen visa fee, the lower euro helps: €90 is about Rs 27,880 at the 23 October rate. The fee itself, and the documents to bring, are in the Germany visit visa from Pakistan.

Check a pound or euro quote before you convert
Banks, exchange companies and transfer apps keep a margin on the State Bank's figure. On £1,000 a margin of Rs 3 a pound costs Rs 3,000, so compare the rupees received after fees before you send or buy.
- Open the State Bank's daily revaluation sheet and read GBP or EUR in the READY column.
- Ask your provider for its rate and any fee for your exact amount.
- Work out the rupees received, or paid, after the fee.
- Compare with one other provider on the same day.
- Use a bank or licensed exchange company, and keep the receipt.
The same check for dollar quotes is set out in checking the dollar rate you are offered. A single day's pound and euro rates, with the State Bank's conversion table, are on the pound and euro rates for 15 October.

Where these rates matter for Pakistanis in the UK and Europe
The pound and euro rates decide what a remittance from the UK or Europe is worth, and what fees set in those currencies cost in rupees. Passport fees at Pakistani missions abroad, visa fees and university fees are common examples.
Money sent through official channels can arrive in a Pakistani account or wallet through the routes in receiving a home remittance through Raast. Fees at the London mission are listed in Pakistani passport fees in the UK. Never use hundi or hawala to move money. They are illegal and a lost payment cannot be traced.
