Punjab has put 33 mobile police stations on the road. Six of them are Pink Mobile Police Stations, staffed by women for cases involving women and children. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz inaugurated the vans in Lahore on Wednesday, 30 September 2026.

The Punjab government confirmed the launch on its own portal, punjab.gov.pk, on 2 October. Its notice gives the fleet size, the six Pink units and three of the services. The fuller list of 14 services comes from the official statement issued at the launch, as reported. We read both and set out below what is confirmed and what is still only reported.

The idea is simple. A van with police staff and a computer link parks in a town, a college or a remote village. You go to the van instead of travelling to the police station or a Khidmat Markaz.

Punjab mobile police stations: 33 vans, 6 run by women

The Punjab government says 33 mobile police stations now operate across the province. Six are Pink Mobile Police Stations with women personnel. They handle sensitive matters such as harassment, violence and abuse involving women and children, so a woman can report to a woman officer.

Punjab mobile police stations: 33 vans in total, including 6 Pink Mobile Police Stations for women

The launch statement says each van is headed by a sub-inspector. A field supervisor, a senior station assistant and male and female constables work with him. The senior station assistant handles the computer work and online data entry. The constables guide visitors.

The local station house officer (SHO, the officer in charge of a police station) and the beat officer are also meant to stay in the field while a van works in their area. That matters. A complaint lodged at the van belongs to the same police station that would handle it anyway.

This is not the first mobile unit in Punjab. In October 2025 the provincial government launched a mobile police station and licensing unit, and Pink licensing vans for women then visited districts including Dera Ghazi Khan and Rawalpindi, state media reported. The new fleet of 33 is a much bigger roll out with police services at its centre.

The vans offer 14 police and licence services

The 14 services include FIR applications, lost document reports, criminal record checks, tenant registration, employee verification, character certificate verification and driving licences. Only three of these, tenant registration, employee verification and criminal record checks, are named on the government portal.

An e-tag is the tracking number you get when the police enter your complaint in their system. You use it to follow the case later, and you can check an FIR online once one is registered. Keep the e-tag safe.

The services are the same ones you already get at a Police Khidmat Markaz, the police service centres in district headquarters. The difference is distance. The van comes to you.

Main services at Punjab mobile police stations, from FIR applications to driving licences

We could not find a fee list for the vans. Driving licence and character certificate fees are normally set by the Punjab government and paid the same way as at a fixed office. Ask the staff for the official fee before you pay, and get a receipt.

The schedule is announced on social media and in mosques

The vans visit universities and girls' colleges on a set schedule. Other stops are chosen using crime data and calls to the police emergency number 15. The launch statement says each schedule is shared on social media, with mosque announcements before a van arrives.

The government has not yet published a list of which districts got which vans. Neither the portal notice nor the launch statement names them. So the best way to find a van near you is local.

  1. Follow your district police on their official social media pages for the van's weekly route.
  2. Listen for the announcement at your local mosque the day before a visit.
  3. Ask at your nearest police station or Khidmat Markaz when the van is due in your area.
  4. Take your original CNIC and copies of any papers the service needs.
  5. Write down the e-tag or receipt number before you leave the van.
Steps to use a Punjab mobile police station van

For tenant registration in Punjab, bring the tenant's CNIC copy, a photo and the rent agreement. For a lost CNIC, the police report is only the first step. You still need to apply to NADRA for a new card.

Pink Mobile Police Stations are for women and children

The six Pink Mobile Police Stations have women staff. The Punjab government says they deal with harassment, violence and abuse cases involving women and children. A woman who would not walk into a police station can speak to a woman officer at her college or near her home.

The launch statement says the Pink vans will handle these cases with privacy. That is the right promise. Whether it holds will depend on the staff in each van, and we will watch for complaints.

Pink vans can also give driving licence services to women, as the 2025 licensing vans did. A woman who needs a learner licence in Punjab may find the van at her college before she finds time for a licensing centre.

Call 15 in an emergency, not the van

The vans are for routine services and complaints, not emergencies. If a crime is happening or someone is in danger, call 15, the police emergency number. For a complaint about police conduct, the Punjab Police website lists the IGP Complaint Center on 1787 by call or SMS.

We checked the Punjab Police website on 3 October 2026. It shows 1787 as the IGP Complaint Center number. Some people still quote 8787, but that figure now appears only in the web address of the online complaint form.

If the van is not in your area this week, you can still report to the police without visiting a station, through the online complaint form or the Khidmat Markaz.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 3 October 2026, about 3am PKT. We read the Punjab government's notice Punjab Launches Mobile Police Station Service to Provide Doorstep Public Services, dated 2 October 2026. It confirms the 33 vans, the six Pink units with women personnel and their purpose, and names tenant registration, private employee verification and criminal record verification. The full list of 14 services, the staffing, the schedule and the role of helpline 15 come from the official statement issued at the launch on 30 September, which we read as quoted in press reports, so we mark them as reported. We read the helpline numbers on the Punjab Police website. The October 2025 licensing vans are from state media reports of that time. The government has not published a district list or a fee schedule for the vans.
