Use the Rasta App in Lahore: Pay Traffic Fines Six Ways, Check Traffic and Apply for a Licence
Rasta is the Lahore traffic police app from PITB for licences, challans and alerts. The police site lists six ways to pay a fine. See what to check first.

Short answer: Rasta is the smartphone app of City Traffic Police Lahore, built by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB). The store listing says it helps you apply for a driving licence, pay challans and plan routes, and it gives traffic alerts. The police site says Lahore traffic fines can be paid through six channels.
Lahore traffic is hard to predict. A blocked road, a procession or an accident can add an hour to a trip. A fine you forget can grow into trouble at the next check. Rasta is the official app that tries to help with both. This guide explains what it does, what to check first, and where it may be out of date.
We read the app's store listing, the City Traffic Police Lahore website and the Punjab government's mobile applications page on 13 October 2026. We did not install the app. The listing says it was last updated on 13 October 2023, so features may have changed. We could not test any of them.
Rasta covers licences, challans and routes
The listing says PITB developed Rasta with City Traffic Police Lahore to give the public smart answers to traffic problems and questions. It names three main jobs: applying for a licence, paying challans, and planning driving routes.
The app also gives timely traffic alerts, so you can avoid a blocked road. Its "Traffic Updates" feature lets you see conditions on a route in advance. The listing says that, with Google Maps traffic updates, a source and a destination point guide you around congestion.
The City Traffic Police website shows the Rasta app for both Android and iPhone under its digital services. It also says Rasta offers FM radio traffic updates, SMS interaction and driving tips. We did not test those.
The police site lists six ways to pay a traffic fine
You do not need the app to pay a fine. The City Traffic Police Lahore site says you can pay a traffic fine online through six services. These are the 1Link facility, a mobile banking app, an ATM, the Easypaisa app, the Mobicash app and TCS.
| Need | Where the official sources point |
|---|---|
| Pay a Lahore traffic fine | 1Link, mobile banking app, ATM, Easypaisa, Mobicash or TCS |
| Check traffic conditions on a route | Rasta app, Traffic Updates |
| Apply for or track a driving licence | Rasta app and the DLIMS licence system on the police site |
| Book a licence test appointment | City Traffic Police Lahore site |
| Ask about a police traffic service | Traffic helpline listed on the police site |

We did not find a fee schedule on the pages we read, and we do not quote any fine amounts. The site has an offence penalties reference, so check it before you pay. For motorways and highways, the process is different, as set out in the guide to checking and paying a motorway challan.
Check the licence side with care
The police site says it offers licence issuance and application, tracking and verification through the DLIMS system, test appointments and a list of driving schools. The Rasta listing also names licence applications, but its text is older than the police site.
Because of that, treat the police site as the main source for a licence and use the app as a convenience. The steps and fees for a licence are covered in the guide to applying for a Punjab driving licence online. If you lost yours, see how to get a duplicate driving licence in Punjab.
The test timelines have deadlines of their own, set out in the Punjab licence test deadlines guide.
Enforcement is tighter in October 2026
The police site reports recent updates on illegal parking, traffic violations and action against vehicles involved in fatal accidents. A recent report covers the suspension of 170 driving licences after fatal accidents. In that climate, an unpaid fine is a bad risk.
Pay a challan as soon as you have it. Keep the payment receipt for later. Do not use a link from an unknown message to pay a fine. Use only the channels the police site names.
- Get the challan number from the ticket or the official record.
- Choose one of the six channels listed on the police site.
- Enter the challan details and confirm the amount against the ticket.
- Pay, and save the receipt.
- Check the record afterwards to see that it shows as paid.

These steps are a plain summary and not a screen by screen guide. Each channel asks for its own details.
