Shopify's Basic plan costs $29 a month on yearly billing or $39 month to month, after a 3-day free trial and 3 months at $1. Pakistan is not on the Shopify Payments list, so card payments go through an outside gateway and Shopify adds a 2% transaction fee on Basic. Cash on delivery orders carry no Shopify transaction fee.

That last point matters more than the plan price for most Pakistani stores. A large share of online orders here are still paid in cash at the door. If your store runs mainly on cash on delivery, the 2% fee rarely touches you.

We opened Shopify's pricing page for Pakistan and its help pages on transaction fees, manual payments and Shopify Payments countries on 9 October 2026. The prices below are the US dollar figures that page showed us.

Shopify plan prices shown for Pakistan in October 2026: Basic, Grow and Advanced, yearly and monthly in US dollars

Shopify plan prices for a Pakistani store

Shopify has three main plans. Basic is $29 a month billed yearly or $39 billed monthly. Grow is $79 or $105. Advanced is $299 or $399. Shopify Plus, for large brands, starts at $2,300 a month. All prices are in US dollars.

Basic$29$392%
Grow$79$1051%
Advanced$299$3990.6%
PlusNot offeredFrom $2,3000.2%

Shopify's page says there are no setup fees on any plan. The start is cheap: 3 days free, then $1 a month for the first 3 months. After that the full plan price applies, so set a reminder before month four.

Shopify also says pricing and payment options can differ by country. Check the final figure on your own checkout screen before you pay, because it is the one that counts.

Why Pakistani Shopify stores pay a transaction fee

Shopify charges a third-party transaction fee when a store does not use Shopify Payments. Shopify Payments is not available for businesses based in Pakistan, so every card or wallet payment through an outside gateway carries the fee: 2% on Basic, 1% on Grow, 0.6% on Advanced.

Shopify's help page on supported countries lists Singapore, the UAE and others, but not Pakistan. Stores in unlisted countries must use a third-party payment provider. Shopify's payment gateways page lets you filter by country to see which providers work for a Pakistan-based store.

Two costs stack here. Shopify takes its transaction fee. Your payment gateway charges its own processing fee on top. Shopify's help page says so plainly. Shopify also keeps its transaction fee when you refund an order.

Shopify works out the fee every 30 days with one formula: product price minus discounts, plus tax, plus shipping, times your plan's rate.

Shopify transaction fee by payment method for a Pakistani store: cash on delivery none, bank transfer none, card through a gateway 2 percent on Basic

Cash on delivery orders carry no Shopify fee

Shopify's help page says transaction fees do not apply to manual payment methods, which include cash on delivery, bank deposits and draft orders marked as paid. A Pakistani store that takes mostly cash on delivery or direct bank transfers pays only the monthly plan.

You switch on cash on delivery under manual payment methods in your Shopify admin. Bank transfer works the same way. A customer can also pay you through a Raast transfer and you mark the order paid. If you sell from a shop counter as well, the steps to accept Raast QR payments in your shop fit alongside an online store.

Cash on delivery has its own costs though. Courier charges, cash collection fees and refused parcels come out of your margin. Knowing how to claim for a lost or damaged courier parcel protects that margin when a shipment goes wrong.

Work out your real Shopify cost in Pakistan

Add your plan fee, the Shopify transaction fee on card orders only, and your gateway's fee. A store on Basic with yearly billing that takes all orders by cash on delivery pays $29 a month to Shopify and nothing more.

  1. Pick your plan and billing. Basic yearly is $29 a month, $348 for the year.
  2. Estimate what share of your sales customers will pay by card or wallet online.
  3. Multiply that card sales total by 2% on Basic. That is Shopify's transaction fee.
  4. Add the payment gateway's own fee for those card orders.
  5. Add paid apps and a theme, if you buy one. Shopify bills these separately.
  6. Add a domain. A .pk domain from PKNIC is an option.

Take a simple example. You sell Rs 300,000 a month, and Rs 100,000 of it comes by card through a gateway. On Basic, Shopify's 2% fee on that Rs 100,000 is Rs 2,000. The Rs 200,000 paid by cash on delivery carries no Shopify fee. The gateway's fee comes on top of the Rs 2,000.

At that size, moving to Grow to save 1% would not pay. Grow costs $50 a month more on yearly billing, more than the Rs 1,000 a month it would save. Upgrade for features, not the fee cut, until card sales get much bigger.

If you want a local address, you can register a .pk domain with PKNIC for Rs 2,100 a year.

Shopify against Daraz for a new Pakistani seller

Daraz brings shoppers to you but takes a commission on each sale. Shopify gives you your own store but no shoppers, so you pay for marketing yourself. Many sellers test on Daraz, then open a Shopify store once they have repeat customers.

Daraz commission and fees decide what you actually keep selling on Daraz, so compare that with your Shopify plan plus marketing spend. The wider choice between a marketplace and your own website comes down to how to start an online store in Pakistan, including FBR registration. Shopify's fees are only one line in that decision.
