Sindh Police Character Certificate Online: Apply on PRVS, Track by CNIC and Case ID, Renew After 6 Months
Get a Sindh Police character certificate online on PRVS: the 4 purpose types, how to track by CNIC and Case ID, and the 6 month rule for renewing an old one.

Sindh Police issues its police character certificate online through PRVS, the Police Record Verification System, at prvs.sindhpolice.gov.pk. Apply with your CNIC, pick one of four purposes (Immigration, Employment, General Verification or Residence Verification), and track the application with your CNIC and Case ID. You can renew an old certificate on the same site once the previous case is complete and at least six months old.
We opened the PRVS home page, its application form and its renewal page on 4 November 2026. This guide covers what the form asks, how to track and renew, and what we could not confirm. Sindh Police does not publish the fee, the document list or the processing time on these pages, so we have not guessed them.
PRVS is the official Sindh police certificate portal
PRVS is run by the IT Directorate at the Central Police Office, Sindh. The Sindh Police website links it as "Get Police Verification Certificate" on its home page and as "Police Verification" on its online public services page. Those two links are the safe way in.
The home page of PRVS has three actions:
- Submit New Application: start a fresh certificate request.
- Renew: renew an existing certificate.
- Track Application: enter your CNIC number and Case ID.
It also has a Complaint and Feedback link for problems with an application.
The form asks for nationality, purpose and the country it is for
The first screen of a new application has five required fields. We recorded them as they appeared on 4 November 2026.
| Field | Options |
|---|---|
| Nationality | Pakistani (CNIC), Foreigner (Passport) or Afghani |
| Nationality Country | A list of countries |
| Purpose Type | Immigration, Employment, General Verification or Residence Verification |
| Country for which Certificate is required | A list of countries, including Pakistan |
| CNIC Number | Your 13 digit CNIC |

Two of these trip people up. Purpose Type should match why you need the certificate. A job abroad is usually Employment, a visa or permanent move is usually Immigration. Ask the embassy or employer which wording they want. The destination country also matters. A certificate made out for Pakistan may not be accepted by a foreign embassy.
Six steps apply for a Sindh police certificate online
- Open sindhpolice.gov.pk and click Get Police Verification Certificate, or go straight to prvs.sindhpolice.gov.pk.
- Click Submit New Application.
- Choose your nationality and the purpose type.
- Choose the country the certificate is for, and enter your CNIC.
- Complete the rest of the form as the site guides you, then submit.
- Write down the Case ID. You need it with your CNIC to track the application.

We read only the first screen of the form. We did not submit an application, so we cannot tell you what the later screens ask, what you pay, or how the certificate is delivered. Keep your CNIC, passport, a recent photo and proof of your Sindh address ready. Those are what police certificate applications in Pakistan usually ask for, but PRVS did not list them for us.
Track with your CNIC and Case ID
On the PRVS home page, enter your CNIC number and Case ID, then press Track Application. The Case ID is the number the system gives you when you apply. If you lose it, use the Complaint and Feedback link on the same page rather than starting a new application, which could create a duplicate case.
Our general guide on checking a police certificate status in Pakistan covers the other provinces.
Renewal is allowed once the old case is six months old
The renewal page sets one clear condition. In its own words: "Your previous case must be completed or certificate issued, and at least 6 months old."
| Renewal rule | What it means for you |
|---|---|
| Previous case completed or certificate issued | A pending case cannot be renewed |
| At least 6 months old | Under 6 months, apply fresh or wait |
| Previous Tracking ID | Required field |
| CNIC or passport | Must match the previous application |
The page does not say how long a certificate stays valid, and it does not give a renewal fee. Some embassies and employers accept only a recently issued certificate, so check their rule before you renew.
Applying from abroad and other Sindh police services
If you are outside Pakistan, see our guide on getting a police certificate from abroad. For the other nine Sindh Police portals, including tenant registration and Special Branch verification, see our list of Sindh Police online services. If an officer asks you for money to speed up a certificate, our guide on complaining to the IGP Sindh explains where to report it.
Use only links that end in sindhpolice.gov.pk. A look-alike site that asks for your CNIC and an online payment is a scam risk.

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
