Pakistanis apply for a Thai visa online at thaievisa.go.th, then pay the fee in cash at the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad. A single entry tourist visa costs Rs 13,000 and a 6-month multiple entry tourist visa Rs 65,000. The Embassy estimates about 14 working days after payment.
That is the odd part of Thailand's system for Pakistanis. The form, uploads and result are all online, but the money still goes over a counter at the Embassy gate, in cash. Until you pay, nothing moves.
We read the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad's e-Visa FAQ from March 2025, its visa fee sheet effective 15 July 2024 and its tourist visa sheet, on 29 September 2026. We also read the e-Visa portal's public lists of visa types, missions and required documents. We did not submit an application.
Pakistanis use the Thailand e-Visa for every visa type
Since 1 January 2025, the Royal Thai Embassy in Islamabad takes visa applications only through thaievisa.go.th. The system covers tourist, transit, non-immigrant, diplomatic and official visas. You must be physically in Pakistan while your application is processed.
The Embassy's FAQ says any non-Thai national can apply, either alone or through a representative. You file with the Embassy in Islamabad or the Royal Thai Consulate-General in Karachi, depending on where you live now. The portal's own list of missions shows both offices for applicants living in Pakistan.
Being in Pakistan is a hard rule. You must upload proof of your current location, such as a rental agreement, a utility bill or Pakistani immigration stamps. The FAQ says applications without valid proof are rejected. A Pakistani living in Dubai applies through the Thai mission that covers the UAE, not Islamabad.
No agent is needed. The Embassy says the system is fully online and anyone can apply by themselves.
Thai visa fees in Pakistan start at Rs 13,000
The Embassy's fee sheet, effective 15 July 2024, sets a tourist visa at Rs 13,000 for single entry and Rs 65,000 for 6-month multiple entry. A single transit visa costs Rs 11,000. Fees are paid in cash at the Embassy and are never refunded.

"Validity" is the window to enter Thailand, not the length of your stay. The Embassy pages we read do not state how many days a tourist visa lets you stay. It is reported at up to 60 days per entry. Check the stay printed on your e-Visa and follow that.
Most families need the single entry visa. The multiple entry version costs five times more, and the Embassy's older tourist visa sheet asks for more than Rs 650,000 held in your account for six months in a row.
Documents for a Thai tourist e-Visa from Pakistan
For a tourist visa filed in Islamabad, the portal asks for your passport data page, a photo from the last 6 months, a travel booking, proof of accommodation, financial proof of at least 20,000 baht, and a document showing you are currently in Pakistan.
- Passport: the biodata page. If it is close to expiry, get a passport renewal first.
- Photo: taken within 6 months, JPG or JPEG, no larger than 3MB.
- Travel booking: your flight booking confirmation.
- Accommodation: a hotel booking or an invitation from family or friends in Thailand.
- Money: at least 20,000 baht, shown for example by bank statements for the last 3 months or a sponsorship letter.
- Current location: proof you are in Pakistan now.
The Embassy's older tourist visa sheet, from before the e-Visa, asked for more: a covering letter, an employer letter, CNIC copies, and a bank statement for a full year with a bank letter. The online checklist now asks for less. But a thin file can still be refused, and a tax return or salary slips add weight.
Every ticket and hotel booking must be genuine. The Embassy warns that a fake document gets the application rejected at once, and the applicant or their agent may be blacklisted.
How to apply for the Thailand e-Visa step by step
Create an account on thaievisa.go.th, fill in the form, upload your documents, then take the application confirmation and cash to the Embassy visa gate. Track the result in your account. The approved e-Visa arrives by email, and you must print it.
- Open thaievisa.go.th and create an account. Verify it from the email link.
- Choose Tourist Visa and the number of entries you want.
- Fill in the form and upload the passport page, photo and documents.
- Submit, then print the application confirmation.
- Pay in cash at the Embassy visa gate in Islamabad, 9:30am to 1pm or 2pm to 3:30pm on working days.
- Track the status online, then print the e-Visa when it is emailed.
One account can handle up to 10 applications at a time, so a parent can file for the whole family. In Ramadan, the Embassy payment hours shorten to 9:30am to 2:30pm from Monday to Thursday and 9:30am to 12:30pm on Friday.
Karachi applicants pay at the Consulate-General. The Embassy FAQ tells them to check that mission's own payment options.
Processing takes about 14 working days after payment
The Embassy estimates approximately 14 working days, counted from when your fee is received and acknowledged, not from when you submit online. Pay early. The fee is not refunded if you withdraw or are refused.
Fourteen working days is close to three calendar weeks, longer around Pakistani and Thai holidays. Plan for a month between applying and flying. You can withdraw an application in your account, but the fee stays with the Embassy.
Book flights only when you are sure of your plans. A booking confirmation is enough for the application.
Print the e-Visa, because phone copies are refused
The Embassy says the approved e-Visa must be printed and shown at flight check-in and to Thai immigration on arrival. Mobile or electronic copies will not be accepted. Carry the printout with the passport you applied on.
Thailand also runs a Digital Arrival Card at tdac.immigration.go.th. The site's own title says no fee is required. We could not read its rules past a captcha, so check its filing window there before you fly.
If someone asks for extra money to "speed up" a Thai visa, the Embassy asks you to report it. For comparison, the Azerbaijan e-visa for Pakistanis is paid by card at $29, while a Schengen trip, such as a Spain visa from Pakistan, needs an in-person appointment.
