Valorant in Pakistan: Server Region, Buying VP and Ping Tips

Valorant players in Pakistan are placed on a Riot "shard" by the Region of Residence on their Riot account. The two game servers closest to Pakistan are Bahrain, which sits on the EU shard, and Mumbai, which sits on the Asia Pacific (AP) shard. You buy Valorant Points (VP) inside the game client, and the store shows only the payment methods Riot allows for your region.

That one account setting decides three things at once: where you play, how you pay and who you can queue with. Riot says so on its own support page about the Region of Residence. Get it wrong and you get high ping, the wrong currency and friends you cannot party with.

We read Riot's support pages on server select, payment methods, refunds, PC specs and network troubleshooting on 29 September 2026. We did not buy VP ourselves, so we could not see the rupee prices in the store.

Your Riot region decides your Valorant shard and server

Riot uses two layers. A shard is the large region your account belongs to, such as EU or AP. A server is the data centre inside that shard where your match runs. You cannot change your shard in the game, but you can pick a server inside it.

Riot's Server Select page lists the servers for each shard. For a player in Karachi, Lahore or Peshawar, two names matter most:

Riot does not publish, on the pages we read, which shard a new Pakistani account is sent to. So check your own. Open the server list in the play menu. If you see Bahrain with Frankfurt and Istanbul, your account is on EU. If you see Mumbai with Singapore and Tokyo, it is on AP.

Bahrain went live at the start of Valorant Act III in 2020, when Riot opened its Middle East data centres. Mumbai sits on the other side of Pakistan. Which one gives you lower ping depends on your city and your internet provider's route, not only on distance.

You can choose a server, but only inside your shard

Server Select lets you change the server if you are playing solo or you lead the party. The game still tries to place you on the best server by itself. You can only choose from the servers listed for your shard, so an AP account cannot pick Bahrain.

That is where squads often get stuck. Two friends in the same street can end up on different shards if their accounts were made with different region settings. Then they cannot queue together at all.

Riot's fix is the Change Region of Residence tool. You log in and it tells you whether your account is eligible for a change. Riot warns that a region change may reset 2XKO progress, so ask support first if you play that game too.

Buy Valorant Points inside the game client

VP is bought from the Store tab in the Valorant client. Riot says the store shows every payment method available to your region when you open it. There is no single public list for Pakistan, so the client is the only reliable place to see your options and the price.

1. Log in to the Valorant client on your PC.
2. Open the Store and pick a VP bundle.
3. Choose one of the payment methods the client offers for your region.
4. If you pay by card, make sure your bank has turned on international online payments.
5. Confirm the one-time code from your bank and check that the VP has arrived.

Riot's Payment Methods page names a few methods that are never available, anywhere: Neosurf, Micropayment in Germany, Daopay and Boku pay-by-call, Yandex, and Primeiropay debit cards. None of those is common in Pakistan anyway.

If the client offers card payment, a Visa or Mastercard debit card is the simplest route. If your bank card keeps getting declined, a virtual dollar card is the usual second try. Test it with the smallest bundle first.

Avoid VP codes or "top up" offers from resellers on social media. If a seller uses a stolen card, Riot can reverse the VP later, and your account takes the hit.

Your bank may add 0.5% or 1% FBR tax on a card payment

A card payment to Riot is money paid abroad. FBR's withholding tax rate card lists advance tax under section 236Y on amounts remitted abroad through credit, debit or prepaid cards. The rate is 0.5% if you are on the Active Taxpayers List and 1% if you are not.

Your bank collects it, not Riot. It is the same tax that applies to Steam game payments and other foreign card spending. You can adjust it against your income tax if you file a return.

So a VP bundle costs a little more than the store price. Add the bank's own currency conversion charge, and the rupee amount on your statement can differ from what the client showed. Keep a small extra balance on the card.

Refunds cover only unused VP within 14 days

Riot refunds unused VP and unused content bought in the last 14 days. Once VP is spent, or a skin has been taken into any match, it is no longer refundable. Unused VP is refunded by submitting a ticket to Riot support.

Riot's refund page lists what can never be refunded:

• Used, upgraded or levelled weapon skins, and skin bundles.
• Used accessories such as gun buddies and player cards.
• Agents and Premium Battle Passes, including their levels.
• Radianite Points and anything bought with Kingdom Credits.

A skin counts as used once you reach the loading screen of any match with it equipped, even a custom game. So test a new skin in the store preview, not in a match, if you are unsure.

Lower your Valorant ping from Pakistan with five checks

Most ping trouble in Pakistan comes from Wi-Fi, a VPN or a poor route from your provider. Riot's own network page suggests a wired connection, no VPN, a public DNS server and an up-to-date Windows. Then pick the server with the lowest ping in Server Select.

Riot notes that some providers block third-party DNS. If the internet stops working after the change, switch back to automatic DNS. For router settings, background downloads and provider problems, the steps to fix high ping work for Valorant as well.

Evening ping often rises when everyone in the building is streaming. That is your provider's network, and no game setting can fix it.

Your PC needs TPM 2.0 on Windows 11

Valorant runs on modest hardware: an Intel i3-540 class processor, 4GB RAM and Intel HD 4000 graphics for 30 frames per second. On Windows 11, Riot also requires TPM 2.0 and UEFI Secure Boot for its Vanguard anti-cheat. Cloud gaming and virtual machines are not supported.

TPM is a security chip, and Secure Boot is a startup setting. Both are switched on in the PC's BIOS. Older desktops, including many sold second-hand, often have them turned off, which is why the game refuses to start with a VAN 9001 or 9003 error.

For 60 frames per second, Riot recommends an Intel i3-4150 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200 with a GeForce GT 730. For 144, it suggests an Intel i5-9400F or Ryzen 5 2600X with a GTX 1050 Ti.

Common questions

Which Valorant server is best for Pakistan?

Usually Bahrain on the EU shard or Mumbai on the AP shard. Test both if you can, because your provider's route matters more than distance.

Can I change my Valorant region from AP to EU?

Only through Riot's Change Region of Residence tool, which checks whether your account is eligible. The game itself cannot move you between shards.

How do I pay for Valorant Points in Pakistan?

Open the Store in the Valorant client and use a payment method it offers for your region. If it offers cards, use a Visa or Mastercard with international payments turned on.

Is there tax on buying VP with a Pakistani card?

Your bank may deduct advance tax under section 236Y: 0.5% if you are on the Active Taxpayers List and 1% if not.

Can I get a refund on Valorant Points?
