Aga Khan University MBBS 2027 Admission in Pakistan: Apply From 15 February, Test in July
Plan for Aga Khan University MBBS 2027: applications 15 February to 15 April, AKU test 1 to 11 July, Rs 9,000 early fee and the 70 per cent HSSC rule so far.

Aga Khan University lists MBBS applications for 2027 from 15 February to 15 April 2027, with the AKU admission test between 1 and 11 July 2027. The early bird fee is Rs 9,000 until 18 March 2027, and Rs 15,000 after that. Classes begin in January 2028.
Nothing is open today. AKU's MBBS page still says the 2026 to 2027 round closed on 13 May 2026. So use this as a plan, not a form to fill. We read AKU's key dates page and the 2026 to 2027 MBBS booklet on 14 October 2026. The 2027 booklet is not out, so the entry rules below come from last year's booklet and may change.
The 2027 MBBS application window runs from 15 February to 15 April
AKU's key dates page gives an early bird window from 15 February to 18 March 2027 and a regular window from 19 March to 15 April 2027. The fee for applicants from Pakistan is Rs 9,000 early and Rs 15,000 later. The AKU test is on 1 to 11 July 2027.
| Step | Date |
|---|---|
| Early bird applications | 15 February to 18 March 2027 (Rs 9,000) |
| Regular applications | 19 March to 15 April 2027 (Rs 15,000) |
| AKU admission test | 1 to 11 July 2027 |
| Interviews | August or September 2027 |
| Classes begin | January 2028 |

Last year's round ran from 8 March to 13 May 2026, so the 2027 window opens about three weeks earlier. Put the early bird dates in your phone now. A student who waits for the newspaper notice may lose the cheaper fee.
Last year's booklet asked for 70 per cent in pre-medical HSSC
The 2026 to 2027 booklet asked for a pre-medical HSSC with a minimum aggregate of 70 per cent. Candidates must have studied biology, chemistry and either physics or mathematics. O and A Level students needed at least a B grade in the science subjects and an IBCC equivalence certificate.
AKU says it has no preference for Urdu or English medium schooling. It also says there are no quotas, no reserved seats and no admissions against donations. Candidates still writing their final exams in summer may apply on a provisional basis and must show the result later.
If you studied abroad, you need an IBCC equivalence certificate, and the booklet states the 70 per cent line applies to that certificate too. Start early, because processing takes time. Our notes on compulsory subjects for O and A Level equivalence and the IBCC QR equivalence certificate help you avoid delays.
The AKU test and MDCAT are both needed for final selection
Last year AKU asked every applicant to write its own test, then submit a valid MDCAT score from the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) after shortlisting. The booklet adds that SAT II and the international MCAT cannot replace MDCAT for the PMDC rule.
That means you may sit two tests in one year. The AKU test covers physics, chemistry and biology, plus sections on science reasoning and mathematical reasoning. It is multiple choice, based on the HSSC syllabus. AKU says test scores are valid only in the year they are written.
The booklet also carries a warning in capital letters. It says AKU will likely use the University Clinical Aptitude Test (UCAT) from the 2027 cycle for eligible applicants, with details to follow on its website. So the AKU test described above may change. Check the MBBS page again in January. To see how MDCAT scores turn into merit, read how to work out your MDCAT aggregate, and how to check your NUMS MDCAT result.

Two interviews decide the final list
After the test, AKU shortlists a limited number of candidates for two independent interviews. Shortlisted candidates send a second application form, two teacher reference letters and their MDCAT result. AKU then ranks them on results, interviews and other signs such as leadership.
- Check your HSSC marks against the 70 per cent line and gather your IBCC certificate if you need one.
- Apply online on AKU's portal between 15 February and 18 March 2027 to pay Rs 9,000.
- Write the AKU admission test between 1 and 11 July 2027 at the centre you chose.
- Sit the PMDC MDCAT and send the result as soon as you have it.
- Attend two interviews in August or September 2027 and send your reference letters.
Before you pay any medical college fee, check its status. The PMDC publishes a tuition cap for private colleges, and our fee cap guide shows where to find it. You can also confirm a college's recognition with the steps in how to check a medical or dental college is PMDC recognised.
