Still life of a plain wooden block on a dark wooden table, for a guide to the Sindh Excise tax calculator

Short answer: Sindh Excise has an online tax calculator with one version for four wheelers and one for two wheelers. It estimates registration, transfer and, for bikes, lifetime tax charges before you start. The page warns that results are indicative and final charges are subject to official verification, so treat the number as a guide, not a bill.

A buyer in Hyderabad finds a used car and wants to know what the Excise office will ask for after the deal. The dealer quotes a figure. The buyer wants a second opinion before paying.

We opened the Sindh Excise tax calculator page on 13 October 2026 and read what it offers and what it warns. We did not enter a vehicle, so we do not quote any amount from it. That is deliberate, because the page itself says the figures are only indicative.

The calculator has two versions by vehicle type

The page offers a "Choose a calculator" menu with two options. The four wheeler calculator estimates registration, transfer and relevant vehicle category charges for cars, jeeps and similar vehicles. The two wheeler calculator estimates registration, lifetime tax and transfer charges for motorcycles and scooters.

The page does not list the rates. You enter the details of your vehicle and the tool returns an estimate.

Use the estimate in four steps

Have the vehicle papers beside you. The exact fields can change, so follow what the page asks. The steps below show how to use the result well.

  1. Open the tax calculator page on the Sindh Excise website.
  2. Choose the four wheeler or the two wheeler calculator.
  3. Enter the vehicle details the page asks for, from the papers or the dealer's file.
  4. Write down the estimate, and compare it with the dealer's quote before you pay anyone.
Four steps to use the Sindh Excise tax calculator

A large gap between the dealer's figure and the calculator is a reason to ask questions. A small gap is normal, since the page says final charges are verified later.

Read the disclaimer before you rely on the number

The page states that results are indicative and that final charges remain subject to official verification and a future API integration. In plain words, the tool is not yet linked to every Excise record, so the real charge at the counter may differ.

Warning that Sindh Excise calculator results are indicative only

Use the calculator to plan your cash. Keep a margin, and ask the Excise office for the final figure in writing on the day. Do not pay a middleman a fixed amount because "the website says so".

Plan your total cost beyond the estimate

The calculator covers Excise charges only. A buyer also pays the seller, and may pay for an inspection, stamp paper or a dealer fee. Add these to your budget before you agree on a price.

Compare two or three vehicles with the calculator before you decide. A car and a bike in the same price range can have very different Excise costs. Run the tool for each and keep the numbers in one note.

If you are registering a new vehicle, ask the dealer which charges are already included in the price they quote. Get that answer in writing. A quote that says "all inclusive" should list each charge, and the list should match the estimate.

When the estimate and the counter differ, ask the officer to explain each line. A clear explanation is your right as a customer, and a refusal to explain is a reason to call the Excise call centre.

Pair the estimate with the other Excise checks

The calculator tells you about charges. It does not tell you whether the vehicle is clean. Check the vehicle record first with Excise's online verification, which our guide to vehicle verification in all provinces explains.

Then read the transfer steps in our guide to transferring vehicle ownership in Sindh. Late transfer carries a penalty, covered in the page on the Sindh vehicle transfer penalty. And before you buy, use our checklist for inspecting a used car.

If you already own the vehicle, the yearly bill is a different job. See how to pay Sindh vehicle tax online.

Call Excise for the final figure

The Excise call centre is listed as open 24 hours. Ask for the exact charge for your vehicle, and note the name of the person who answers.

  • Call centre: (021) 111 374 634
  • Website: excise.gos.pk

Common questions

Is the Sindh Excise calculator accurate?

It is indicative. The page says final charges are subject to official verification, so use it as a guide and confirm at Excise.

Registration, transfer and relevant vehicle category charges for cars, jeeps and similar vehicles.

What does the two wheeler calculator cover?

Registration, lifetime tax and transfer charges for motorcycles and scooters.

Does it show a penalty for late transfer?

The page we read does not mention penalties. See the separate page on the Sindh transfer penalty.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked on 13 October 2026, Pakistan time. We read the Sindh Excise tax calculator page and the Excise home page. We did not enter a vehicle, so we quote no charge from the tool and have not verified its accuracy.
