Short answer: NADRA lists 28 dedicated female registration centres across Pakistan, a female desk and female staff at every registration centre, four female mobile registration vans, and Friday as "Family Day" at each centre. Call 1777 to find the centre nearest to you. The NADRA home page also has a "Find Nearest NRC" link.

Many women in Pakistan put off a CNIC, a renewal or a correction for one reason that has nothing to do with paperwork. The centre is crowded, the queue is mostly men, and the trip means a day away from home. NADRA's own page says it has built several things to deal with that. Most women have never heard of them.

We read NADRA's inclusive registration page on 12 October 2026. This guide lists what that page says for women, what it leaves unexplained, and how to ask for each service at the counter. We did not visit a centre, so we cannot report queue times.

NADRA lists five measures for women at its centres

The inclusive registration page names women as one of the groups NADRA wants to reach. It lists 28 dedicated female registration centres, a female desk at each registration centre, female staff at each centre, 4 dedicated female mobile registration vans, and Friday as Family Day at each centre.

These are NADRA's own statements. The page does not give the addresses of the 28 centres. For that, use the locator on the NADRA home page or call the helpline.

Ask for the female desk at any centre

If you go to an ordinary centre, ask for the female desk. NADRA says every registration centre has one, and female staff are available at each. You do not need a special centre for a simple renewal, a correction or a reprint.

NADRA does not say you must bring a male relative. Bring one only if the service needs a relative's CNIC, for example for a family tree link. Keep your papers in one folder, and ask by phone about the quietest time at your centre.

  1. Call 1777 or open the NADRA home page and use "Find Nearest NRC".
  2. Check whether a female centre is close enough, or use your nearest centre's female desk.
  3. Book a slot if you can, using the Pak ID app.
  4. Take your original CNIC or the papers for a new one, and a relative's CNIC if the service needs it.
  5. At the centre, ask the staff at the entrance to direct you to the female desk.
  6. Keep the receipt and track the application afterwards.

Booking is covered in the guide to booking a NADRA appointment online. For centre addresses and timings of the large ones, see the list of NADRA Mega Centres.

Female mobile vans come to the community

NADRA says it has four dedicated female mobile registration vans. It also says mobile vans are deployed for marginalised communities and in joint campaigns with the Election Commission. A van does not wait for you to arrive. It goes to an area.

The page does not publish a schedule for the female vans. NADRA keeps a separate mobile van schedule on its site, listed under quick links. The guide to the NADRA mobile registration van explains how to find a visit date near you.

If women in your area cannot travel, ask NADRA on 1777 how to request a van. NADRA's page says vans are deployed on need, but it does not publish the request form.

What Friday Family Day means and what is unclear

NADRA's page says Friday is designated as Family Day at each registration centre. It does not explain what that means in practice. It may be a day set aside for families, or for women who come with children, but we cannot confirm which.

We think this is worth saying plainly because a guess can waste a trip. Call the centre or 1777 before you go on a Friday and ask three things. Does Family Day change the counters, the queue or the timings? Does it include the female desk? Is it the best day or the busiest day for a woman coming with children?

NADRA's list also includes three lines that read: first-time registration without fee, ID documents issued free of cost the first time, and CNICs with a life time expiry. They sit right after the women's items on the page, but the page does not label which group they belong to. Ask NADRA whether they apply to your case before you assume you will not pay.

Papers women ask about most

The most common reasons women visit a centre are a marriage update, a first CNIC and a renewal. After marriage, a woman can update her marital status with NADRA, and our note on updating your CNIC after marriage shows the charge and the name choice. For a first card at 18 without registered parents, read the guide to getting a first CNIC at 18.

NADRA's fee page, read on 12 October 2026, lists a normal CNIC renewal at Rs 400 in 15 days and a smart card renewal at Rs 750 in 31 days. A CNIC is valid for ten years, and NADRA's rule says to apply for renewal no later than one month after expiry.
