How to Get Your CNIC Done at a NADRA Mobile Registration Van in Pakistan

NADRA mobile registration vans process CNIC, NICOP, POC and CRC jobs at the standard fee. What they cover, how to find the schedule and what to bring.

A quiet village road lined with trees in the morning, for a guide on NADRA mobile registration vans in Punjab

Short answer: NADRA runs Mobile Registration Vans (MRVs) that do a CNIC, NICOP, Pakistan Origin Card, juvenile card or Family Registration Certificate job on the spot, at the standard fee with no extra charge. The vans work on a first come, first served basis. Check NADRA's MRV schedule page for your region before you go, because NADRA can cancel or reschedule a visit without notice.

For a woman in a village two hours from the nearest NADRA centre, or an elderly parent who cannot stand in a queue, the van is the practical option. It comes to a place near you and does the same work as a registration centre.

We read NADRA's Mobile Registration Services page, its MRV schedule page, its inclusive registration page and its fee structure on 11 October 2026. We did not visit a van.

An MRV does the same work as a NADRA centre

NADRA says the vans are fully equipped to process applications just like a NADRA Registration Centre. They are meant for people in remote, underserved or crowded areas, and they bring registration to the doorstep.

The services NADRA lists for MRVs are a fresh CNIC, renewal, reprint of a lost card and modification, the same four for NICOP and Pakistan Origin Card, plus the Child Registration Certificate (CRC), juvenile card, Family Registration Certificate, cancellation of documents and biometric update.

The standard fee applies and the van adds nothing

NADRA's page says the standard fee is charged and there are no extra charges for MRV services. So the number to look at is NADRA's own fee list. A new CNIC is Rs 0. A CNIC modification, duplicate or renewal is Rs 400 on the normal track.

Smart CNIC work is Rs 750 on the normal track, with urgent at Rs 1,500 and executive at Rs 2,500. A CRC is Rs 50 on normal and a Family Registration Certificate is Rs 1,000 or Rs 2,000, executive only. NADRA lists CNIC validity at 10 years.

Ask the staff at the van which track your job uses before you pay. Fuller tables are on NADRA's fees for every document, and we explain why fee pages online sometimes disagree in the note on NADRA CNIC fee sites.

Find the schedule and the region before you travel

NADRA's MRV schedule page is divided by region: Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Sargodha, Sukkur, Gilgit Baltistan, Gwadar, AJK and MRO Abroad. Pick your region on the page for locations and dates.

When we opened the page, the region list loaded and the individual dates sat behind each region. We could not see a dated list, so check the schedule on the day you plan to go. NADRA says updated information is also posted on its official social media accounts.

The reason to check the day before is simple: NADRA says it reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an MRV visit without prior notice. A wasted trip to a van that did not come costs you a day.

  1. Open the MRV Schedule link on NADRA's website.
  2. Choose your region and find the nearest location and date.
  3. Confirm the date on NADRA's helpline, 1777, the day before.
  4. Pack the documents for your job, including the old card for renewal or modification.
  5. Arrive early, since the service is first come, first served.
  6. Pay the standard fee and keep the tracking ID for your application.

Who should use a van and who should book a centre

Use the van if you are far from a centre, if you are elderly, ill or have small children, or if you belong to a community NADRA is registering on request. NADRA's inclusive registration page says vans are deployed to orphanages on demand and to religious minority areas as needed.

It also lists four dedicated female mobile registration vans, 28 female registration centres, a female desk at every centre and Friday as Family Day. For disabled applicants, NADRA says special counters and priority handling exist at centres, and that bed-ridden persons are processed at their doorstep. See the special CNIC guide for the details.

Book a centre instead if you need a biometric witness, or a complicated record fix. For slots at centres, see booking a NADRA appointment online and the mega centres list and timings.

One rule applies to fresh registration only: NADRA says blood relatives must be present for biometric verification. A first-time applicant whose parents are not registered should read the guide on a first CNIC when parents are not registered.
