How to Reactivate a Self-Blocked Jazz SIM

If you blocked your Jazz number yourself after a theft, dial *8822# from any Jazz number and follow the steps to restore it, or call 111. Jazz says this is free and immediate. If you asked Jazz to block the number for a while, it must be reactivated within 90 days. After that, Jazz says the number may be blocked for good and given to a new customer.

We read Jazz's FAQ page and its self-service dial code list on 22 September 2026. Every code and rule below is one Jazz publishes. We could not dial the codes ourselves, because we do not have a blocked Jazz SIM.

First, find out which kind of block you have

"Blocked" can mean several different things on Jazz. Each one has a different fix. Find yours in this table.

If your phone asks for a PUK code, send your full number to 7023, as the table shows. If the SIM itself is lost, you need a new SIM on the same number.

How to restore a number you blocked after a theft

This is the usual meaning of a "self-blocked" SIM. You blocked the number because the phone or SIM was stolen, and now you have it back.

1. Take any working Jazz number. Jazz says the requirement is "Any Jazz Number", so a family member's phone will do.
2. Dial *8822#. Jazz lists this as its blocking and restoration code.
3. Choose the restore option and follow the instructions on screen.
4. If the menu does not work, call 111 from a Jazz prepaid number and ask for the number to be restored.

Jazz says restoration is free and takes no waiting time. Jazz does not publish the menu steps inside *8822#, so we cannot list the exact screens.

How to reactivate a number you blocked voluntarily

Jazz lets prepaid customers block their own number on purpose, for example while living abroad. Jazz's rules for this are strict.

• A prepaid number can stay voluntarily blocked for a maximum of 90 days.
• It must be reactivated within 90 days of your last charged activity, such as an outgoing call, an SMS or mobile internet use.
• After 90 days, Jazz says the number "may be permanently blocked" and re-issued to a new customer.
• Postpaid customers must clear their bill before they can ask for a voluntary block.

Jazz takes voluntary block requests only through the 111 helpline for prepaid, 777 for postpaid, a Jazz Experience Centre, a franchise, or its customer care team by email. Jazz does not spell out the reactivation route in its FAQ. The safest way is to use the same channels.

1. Call 111 from another Jazz prepaid number, or 0 111 300 300 from any network.
2. Say that you placed a voluntary block and want it lifted.
3. If they ask you to visit, go to a Jazz Experience Centre or franchise with your original CNIC. Find the nearest one at jazz.com.pk/franchise-locator.
4. Once the number works, make a call, send an SMS or use data. Jazz counts the 90 days from your last charged activity, so use the number regularly.

How to confirm the number is working again

1. Restart the phone with the SIM inside.
2. Check that the network name and signal bars appear.
3. Call another number, and ask someone to call you back.
4. Dial *111# to see your balance. Jazz says prepaid balance does not expire, so it should still be there.

If there is still no signal after a restore, the problem may be the SIM card or the phone.

A warning about the 90 day limit

Do not leave a blocked number too long. After 90 days, Jazz says the number may be given to someone else. That matters if your bank, JazzCash or other accounts send codes to that number. A new owner would receive them. If you cannot reactivate in time, change the number on your bank and other accounts first.

Also, never give a caller your CNIC details or a code sent by SMS to "unblock" your SIM. Jazz says a replacement SIM needs your fingerprint, in person, at a Jazz outlet. Only use the numbers Jazz publishes: 111, 0 111 300 300 and WhatsApp 0300-3008000.

If Jazz will not restore the number

Ask for a complaint number. You can also complain in the SIMOSA app, under Support, then Submit a complaint, and Jazz sends the complaint ID by SMS. If the number was re-issued to someone else while it was blocked, Jazz says a dispute about a change of ownership must be lodged within 30 days, with evidence. If Jazz does not solve it, complain to PTA.

Some blocks cannot be reversed by Jazz. Jazz says SIMs of Afghan refugees blocked on PTA's instructions cannot be restored, and no new number can be issued to them.
