How to reactivate a self-blocked Telenor SIM

If you blocked your own Telenor number, for example after losing your phone, the owner of the SIM has to visit a Telenor franchise with their original CNIC. Telenor's FAQs send lost and blocked SIM cases to the franchise for a replacement SIM on the same number, and say the franchise may charge up to Rs 500 for it. No code or app can undo a block on Telenor's own pages that we read.

We read Telenor Pakistan's FAQs on stolen SIMs, SIM errors, PUK codes and SIM verification on 22 September 2026. Some websites say you can reactivate a blocked SIM by dialling *710# from another Telenor number. We found no such service on any Telenor page, so treat it as unconfirmed.

Types of Telenor SIM block and how each one is fixed

First, check which kind of block you have

"Blocked" means different things, and each has a different fix. Use this table before you travel to a franchise.

What happenedWhat you seeFix Telenor gives
You asked Telenor to block the numberNo service on the numberOwner visits a franchise with original CNIC
Wrong PIN entered too many timesPhone asks for a PUK codeGet the PUK from 345 or the My Telenor app

Blocked for not filing taxAll SIMs on your CNIC stopUnblocked once FBR shares your filing with Telenor
SIM not used for a long timeNo service or offers stopCheck the Sim Lagao offer on *2222# or SMS FREE to 2222

If your phone asks for a PUK code, unblocking the SIM with the PUK is a different process. If an operator or authority blocked you, getting a blocked SIM reopened works differently again.

How to get a self-blocked Telenor number back

  1. Make sure the owner can go. The SIM owner, the person whose CNIC it is registered on, must visit. Telenor's FAQs ask for the owner's original CNIC for blocking and replacement.
  2. Take the original CNIC, not a photocopy. The franchise will check the owner's fingerprints.
  3. Find a franchise. Telenor lists franchise addresses under Franchise Locations on telenor.com.pk.
  4. Ask to restore the number. If you still have the old SIM, ask whether it can be unblocked. If it is lost or damaged, ask for a replacement SIM on the same number.
  5. Pay the replacement fee if a new SIM is issued. Telenor's FAQ says the franchise is entitled to charge up to Rs 500, including all costs, for a replacement or duplicate SIM at the walk-in centre.
  6. Test the SIM at the counter. Make a call, send an SMS and check that your bank or wallet OTPs arrive before you leave.

How Telenor blocks a number in the first place

This matters if you have not blocked the number yet. Telenor's Stolen SIM FAQ gives two ways:

  • Call the helpline on 345, or 042-111-345-100 from another phone, and give your name, CNIC number, the last number you dialled and your last recharge.
  • Visit a franchise with the connection owner's original CNIC.

Block first, replace later. A lost SIM in someone else's hands can receive the one time codes that open your bank, wallet and email accounts.

How to confirm the number is working again

  • Call your own number from another phone.
  • Dial *444# to see your balance, which costs Rs 0.24 including tax.
  • Send "MNP" to 667 from the SIM to confirm it is still registered to you. Telenor lists this at Rs 2.39.
  • Log in to your bank or wallet app and request a test OTP.

Your old balance may not all be there. PTA has reportedly ordered operators to keep prepaid balance valid for at least 180 days and restore expired balance on a later recharge.

When the franchise cannot help

  • The SIM is not in your name. Only the registered owner can restore it. The owner must visit, or the number must first be transferred through Telenor's change of ownership process.
  • Fingerprints do not match. Worn fingerprints are common. Ask the staff to retry on other fingers.
  • The number has been out of use for a long time. Telenor's Sim Lagao FAQ talks about numbers inactive for two months or more. Ask whether the number is still held for you.

Safety warning

Nobody from Telenor needs you to dial a code to "unblock" your SIM. A caller who asks you to dial a code containing a phone number and an amount is trying to take your balance. A caller who asks for your CNIC and last recharge may be trying to block or take over your number, because those are the same details Telenor's helpline uses. Hang up and call 345 yourself.

Where to complain

Call 345 or 042-111-345-100, or use the complaint option in the My Telenor app. Telenor's contact page says a call connected to an agent costs Rs 2.69 including tax. If the franchise refuses without a clear reason, ask for a complaint number and take it to PTA.

Common questions

Can I unblock a self-blocked Telenor SIM from home?

Not on any Telenor page we read. Telenor's FAQs send the owner to a franchise with an original CNIC.

Does *710# reactivate a Telenor SIM?

We found no Telenor page that says so. Telenor's FAQs do not list any code for reactivating a blocked number.

How much does a Telenor replacement SIM cost?

Telenor's FAQ says the franchise can charge up to Rs 500, including all costs.

Can someone else reactivate my Telenor SIM?

No. The SIM owner must go with their original CNIC for biometric verification.

What does PUK BLOCK mean on Telenor?

Telenor's FAQ says to replace the SIM by visiting a franchise with your original CNIC.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 22 September 2026. Blocking by helpline or franchise, and replacement at a franchise, are from Telenor's Stolen Sim FAQ. The Rs 500 replacement ceiling and the invalid SIM fix are from its Sim Errors FAQ. The PUK routes and the PUK BLOCK fix are from its PUK Code Pin Code FAQ, and the PUK in the app from the My Telenor Google Play listing. The FBR unblocking rule is from Telenor's FBR Number Blocking FAQ. Sim Lagao details are from Telenor's Sim Lagao page and FAQ. The 667 ownership check is from its Sim BVS Information FAQ, and helpline charges from its contact page. Telenor does not publish a separate procedure for reversing a self-block, so the steps above follow its franchise and replacement rules. We did not visit a franchise.
