Bank Alfalah Care pays seniors 10.80% from November 2026
Bank Alfalah's Care Senior Citizen Account pays 10.80% on balances from Rs 10,000 to Rs 10 million, with profit every month. Balances under Rs 10,000 earn 10.55%, and amounts above Rs 10 million earn 9.50%. That is slightly more than Alfalah's ordinary PLS savings at 10.50%.
Alfalah also offers a Senior Citizen Mahana Amdan term deposit, listed with the ordinary Mahana Amdan. It pays 10.95% for 1 year, 10.80% for 2 years and 10.95% for 5 years, monthly, from a minimum of Rs 100,000.
- Under Rs 10,000: 10.55%.
- Rs 10,000 to Rs 10 million: 10.80%.
- Above Rs 10 million: 9.50%.
Allied and Soneri senior accounts pay the ordinary 10.50%
Allied Bank's Senior Citizen Account and Soneri's Sahara Account both pay 10.50%, the same as each bank's PLS Savings. Allied's rate rose from 10.00% in October. Above Rs 10 million, both pay 9.50%.
So the senior label at these two banks does not add profit. Choose them for service, branch access or fee waivers, not for rate. Allied Bank's November sheet lists the senior account on the same line as PLS Savings, Asaan, Khanum and Freelancer accounts.

Meezan seniors get free SMS alerts and a free Gold card
Meezan's Senior Citizen Account declared 6.79% for October 2026, the same as its ordinary savings account. Meezan is an Islamic bank, so its savings rate is a profit share declared after each month and runs well below conventional banks. Its senior certificates pay more: 9.55% for COII 1 Year Senior and 10.12% for the Aamdan Certificate Senior.
Meezan's July to December 2026 schedule of charges gives senior citizens two free services. Branch SMS alerts, which cost others Rs 2,800 a year, are free. The first Visa Gold debit card is issued free, though the annual fee still applies. Our Meezan Bank charges list has every other fee.
How a senior citizen can pick the right account
Most retired savers want steady monthly income and easy access. Follow these steps:
- Put money for monthly expenses in Behbood if you qualify, for 12.96% paid monthly.
- Keep 2 to 3 months of spending in a bank savings account for quick withdrawals.
- If you prefer a bank, compare Alfalah Care at 10.80% with your own bank's senior account.
- Ask about free services: SMS alerts, debit cards, cheque books and doorstep banking.
- Name a nominee or keep a clear will, so your family can claim the money later.
SBP also has rules on how banks must serve elderly, blind and disabled customers. Read your banking rights as a senior customer.
