A duplicate matric or inter certificate costs Rs 1,150 at BISE Peshawar, Rs 2,000 at Malakand, Rs 4,100 at DG Khan and Rs 5,000 at Sargodha, on each board's own fee schedule. Certificate verification ranges from Rs 805 at Peshawar to Rs 5,000 at Sargodha for use abroad.

Two jobs bring most people back to their old board years after the exam: replacing a lost or damaged certificate, and getting a certificate verified for a job, a university or travel abroad. The fee gap between boards is wide, more than four times for the same duplicate certificate. We read the fee pages and notices of six boards on 31 October 2026 and set them side by side, with the urgent options and the details that change the price.

Duplicate certificate fees range from Rs 1,150 to Rs 6,000

BISE Peshawar charges the least for a duplicate original certificate, Rs 1,150. Sargodha charges the most: Rs 5,000 ordinary and Rs 6,000 urgent. DG Khan sits between, at Rs 4,100 ordinary and Rs 5,100 urgent from its August 2026 fee notice.

DG Khan's same notice also starts a Rs 100 charge for various forms, so the amount on a DG Khan challan can be Rs 100 above the fee shown here.

A certificate (sanad) and a detailed marks certificate (DMC, also called the result card) are separate documents with separate fees. If you lost both, you pay both. At Sargodha that is Rs 7,000 at ordinary speed, by our arithmetic.

Verification fees depend on where the document is going

Verification for use inside Pakistan is cheaper than verification valid for the Inter Board Committee of Chairmen (IBCC), which you need for use abroad. Peshawar charges Rs 805 normal and Rs 1,000 for IBCC; Sargodha charges up to Rs 3,500 within Pakistan and Rs 5,000 for abroad.

BoardVerification feeWhat it covers
BISE PeshawarRs 805 / Rs 1,000Per document, normal / IBCC
BISE MalakandRs 2,000 per copyCertificate or DMC, same day; IBCC also Rs 2,000
BISE AbbottabadRs 1,000 / Rs 1,300DMC or original certificate, normal / urgent (2025)
BISE MultanRs 2,500Certificate, matric or inter, within country
BISE SargodhaRs 2,000 / Rs 3,500 / Rs 5,000Departmental / personal within country / abroad for IBCC

Sargodha's page says its departmental and personal verifications are not valid for IBCC. So if your certificate is going to an embassy or a foreign employer, pay for the IBCC kind the first time. IBCC attestation itself is a separate step, explained in attesting matric and inter certificates at IBCC.

DG Khan's August 2026 fee notice lists a narrower item: verification of an extra copy of a certificate or result card at Rs 1,500. That is a copy check, not a full verification letter. The board's departmental and IBCC verification fees, and the small form fee it now adds to applications, are covered in DG Khan board fee 2026.

Apply for a duplicate certificate in five steps

The broad order is the same everywhere: fill the board's duplicate form, pay the fee on its challan, and submit with the documents the form lists. Ordinary delivery takes longer than urgent where both exist, and Malakand lists duplicates as same day.

  1. Find your roll number and year of passing on an old copy or school record.
  2. Download the duplicate form from your board's website, or get it at the counter.
  3. Pay the fee for ordinary or urgent delivery on the board's challan.
  4. Attach the documents the form lists.
  5. Submit at the board's one-window counter, or through its online portal where one exists.

The supporting documents differ by board, so read your board's form before you queue. For the Lahore board the steps are in getting a duplicate certificate from BISE Lahore, for the federal board in FBISE duplicate certificate and marksheet, and for Quetta in BISE Quetta duplicate DMC and certificate.

Urgent service usually costs Rs 1,000 more

Where a board offers urgent processing, the extra charge on the pages we read is Rs 1,000 at Sargodha and DG Khan for certificates, and Rs 300 at Abbottabad for verification. Malakand lists most document services as same day at the normal fee.

Urgent is worth it when a deadline is days away, such as a job joining date or a visa appointment. Otherwise the ordinary fee and a little patience do the same job. Check whether the urgent fee also covers postage; none of the pages we read says so.

BoardOrdinaryUrgentDifference
Sargodha, duplicate certificateRs 5,000Rs 6,000Rs 1,000
Sargodha, result cardRs 2,000Rs 3,000Rs 1,000
DG Khan, duplicate certificateRs 4,100Rs 5,100Rs 1,000
Abbottabad, verificationRs 1,000Rs 1,300Rs 300

Name or date of birth wrong? That is a correction, not a duplicate

If the certificate has a wrong name, father's name or date of birth, you need a correction, which is priced separately and often by how many years have passed. Sargodha charges Rs 3,000 within two years of the exam and Rs 10,000 after ten years.

Peshawar charges Rs 1,000 for a name correction from school records within five years, and Rs 3,000 by court decree. Malakand charges Rs 2,200 for a name correction from school or college records. Punjab rules are covered in board result card mistakes and correction in Punjab. Fix the record first, then order the duplicate, or you pay twice.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

Last checked 31 October 2026. We read the fee pages of BISE Peshawar, BISE Malakand, BISE Sargodha and BISE Multan, BISE DG Khan's fee notification of 28 August 2026, and BISE Abbottabad's fee notice of 29 July 2025, the latest on its site. Totals and differences are our arithmetic. We could not read fee schedules for Lahore, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Bahawalpur, Swat, Bannu, DI Khan or the Sindh boards. Confirm the amount on your board's challan before paying.
