Gas Load Shedding Schedule in Pakistan This Winter

The winter gas schedule for 2026-27 has not been announced yet. Any timings being shared right now are last winter's, and repeating them as current is the mistake to avoid.

We checked on 2 September 2026. Below is what last winter's schedule looked like, when the new one usually appears, and where the official notice is published so you are not relying on a forwarded message.

Where to check, so you are not guessing

SNGPL publishes notices on its own website at sngpl.com.pk. Two sections matter to a household.

Those two notice pages are the difference between knowing and guessing. A screenshot in a WhatsApp group has no date on it and is very often a year old.

Note which company serves you before you search. Sui Northern and Sui Southern are different companies with different areas and different announcements.

What last winter's schedule looked like

For the December 2025 to February 2026 period, SNGPL was reported to supply domestic gas in three daily slots for Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

1. Morning, reported as 5:30am to 8:30am.
2. Midday, reported as 11:30am to 1:30pm.
3. Evening, reported as 5:30pm to 8:30pm.
4. Industrial consumers were reported not to face load shedding.
5. The arrangement was reported to run until February.

Those are last winter's reported timings and we are giving them so you know the shape to expect, not because they apply today. The company also said at the time that there was no shortage in the system and urged users to consume gas carefully.

When the new schedule usually appears

The pattern in recent years has been an announcement as winter demand climbs, with the schedule running through to February.

So the sensible thing in early September is not to hunt for a schedule that does not exist yet. It is to know where it will appear, and to check the notice pages once the weather turns rather than trusting the first image that reaches your phone.

Planning a household around three slots

If the shape repeats, the practical problem is that cooking, water heating and breakfast all compete for the same window.

Cook in batches during a supply slot rather than at each mealtime. Fill flasks with hot water during the morning slot. If you use a gas geyser, heat water while gas is available rather than when you want to bathe.

Think about the evening slot in particular, because it carries dinner for most households and is the one people most often miss by an hour.

The safety part matters more in winter

Pressure returning after an interruption is when accidents happen, and this is worth reading even if you never think about gas otherwise.

Turn off burners and appliances during an outage. If a knob is left open when supply returns, gas flows into a closed room with nobody watching. Check that every burner is off before you go to bed, particularly on nights when supply has been intermittent.

Ventilation is the other half. Gas heaters consume oxygen and produce fumes, and sealing a room against the cold is exactly what makes that dangerous. Keep a window or vent open when a heater is running, and never use a cooking burner as a room heater.

If you smell gas, do not switch anything on or off, open the doors and windows, turn the supply off at the meter if you can reach it safely, and leave. If your bill looks wrong afterwards

Winter bills rise for two reasons that are easy to confuse. One is that you genuinely used more. The other is a billing or meter reading problem.
