MEPCO Load Shedding Schedule: Feeder Hours by Loss Group in Multan and South Punjab, and Today's Live Check
MEPCO load shedding schedule: its latest public file is July 2024, with 2 hours for most feeders and 4 for high loss ones. Check today's hours on PITC instead.

MEPCO's latest public load shedding file is dated July 2024. It lists 1,717 feeders: most at 2 hours a day, 87 at 4 hours and 262 at none. For today's hours on your own feeder, type your reference number into PITC's portal instead. MEPCO has not posted a newer feeder file on the page we checked on 7 November 2026.
Multan Electric Power Company (MEPCO) serves Multan, Bahawalpur, Rahim Yar Khan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sahiwal and nearby districts. Its "Load Shedding Schedule for Consumer" page links one file, "Load Management Schedule for July 2024". We read it row by row, so you can see how MEPCO sets hours, but treat every number as a 2024 figure.
MEPCO set 2 or 4 hours by a feeder's loss group
The file sorts each feeder into four loss groups by its losses from July 2023 to June 2024. Groups I and II have 2 hours a day, and groups III and IV have 4 hours. Some feeders in every group show zero.
| Loss group | Losses in the file | Feeders | Hours a day | Feeders at zero |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Category I | Up to 10% | 1,140 | 2 | 228 |
| Category II | 10% to 20% | 480 | 2 | 24 |
| Category III | 20% to 30% | 86 | 4 | 7 |
| Category IV | Above 30% | 11 | 4 | 3 |
"Loss" here means AT&C loss, which counts both power lost in the wires and power billed but not paid for. A feeder's group can change as its losses change, so your 2024 row may not be your row now.

Most MEPCO feeders were listed for 2 hours a day
Of the 1,717 feeders, 1,368 show 2 hours a day, 87 show 4 hours and 262 show none. The cuts are split into single hours marked OFF in the file's 24 hourly columns, with each hour running from half past.
| Hours a day in July 2024 | Feeders | Share |
|---|---|---|
| 2 hours | 1,368 | 80% |
| 4 hours | 87 | 5% |
| 0 hours | 262 | 15% |
The file covers about 140 grid stations, with large groups at Khanewal, Muzaffargarh, Sahiwal, Lodhran and Vehari. These counts come from our own script over the file. A small number of rows may read differently in the original PDF, so open it for your exact feeder.

PITC's portal shows your feeder for today
MEPCO's home page links PITC's feeder-wise schedule. Type your 14 digit reference number or feeder code and you get the plan for yesterday, today and tomorrow. It is a better guide than any city list or a 2024 file.
- Find your reference number on your bill, or use MEPCO bill check online to read it.
- Open PITC's Load Management Portal at ccms.pitc.com.pk/FeederDetails.
- Type your reference number or feeder code.
- Read the hours shown for today and tomorrow.
- Check that page again after any shutdown, because a revised plan can be loaded for that week.
The boxes on the portal are explained in the PITC load shedding guide. MEPCO's page also carries an "Update Load Management" link, but the schedule link on that page opened a login form when we tried it, so it will not help a consumer.

Shutdowns come on top of these hours
Planned line work is listed separately on MEPCO's Electricity Shutdown page as scanned letters. Those letters run for set dates, and they tell grid staff to apply a revised load shedding plan, so your hours can shift during that work.
This week's letters are set out in MEPCO's 8 to 17 November shutdown schedule. The earlier batch is in the October and November files. A shutdown and a load shedding hour are not the same thing. A shutdown is for work on the line. Load shedding is tied to losses and supply.
What to do when the cuts exceed the plan
Note the time your power went off and came back for a few days, then compare it with PITC's plan for your feeder. A clear record makes a complaint to MEPCO, and later to NEPRA, far stronger than a general complaint.
MEPCO's helpline and circle numbers are in MEPCO's complaint numbers. If MEPCO does not settle it, you can take it to the regulator. Figures on how companies report these hours are in NEPRA's load shedding report, and MEPCO's own figures are in MEPCO's loss target.
Common questions
Where is the MEPCO load shedding schedule?
On MEPCO's "Load Shedding Schedule for Consumer" page. When we checked on 7 November 2026, it linked only the July 2024 file.
How many hours does MEPCO cut in Multan?
It depends on your feeder, not the city. In the July 2024 file, most feeders were at 2 hours a day. Check your own on PITC's portal for current hours.
How can I check MEPCO load shedding by reference number?
Use PITC's Load Management Portal. Enter your 14 digit reference number or feeder code, and it shows your feeder's plan.
Why does my neighbour have different hours?
Hours are set by feeder, and a street can sit on two feeders. Each feeder has its own losses and its own slots.
Does MEPCO's file show current hours?
No. The file says it uses losses from July 2023 to June 2024. We could not confirm whether those hours still apply, so use it only as a guide to the method.
What we checked
We read MEPCO's schedule page and its July 2024 feeder file on 7 November 2026, and counted the rows by script. MEPCO did not publish newer hours where we looked, and we did not get them from anywhere else.
