Short answer: Petrol costs Rs 362.00 a litre in Pakistan on Thursday, 5 November 2026. That is Rs 7.06 less than on 4 November and Rs 15.91 less than on 31 October. High speed diesel is Rs 387.81 a litre, down Rs 3.71 in a day and Rs 15.15 since 31 October.

These are the petrol price today figures on the daily sheet of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), "Effective November 05, 2026, 00:00 hours". OGRA is the regulator that works out the price each day. We read the sheet line by line on 5 November and compared it with the sheet for 4 November. This is the third cut in a row for both fuels.

Petrol falls to Rs 362.00 and diesel to Rs 387.81

Petrol fell faster than diesel this time. The petrol cut of Rs 7.06 is the largest single day fall since 31 October. Diesel fell Rs 3.71, almost the same as the day before.

Yesterday's figures and the Aramco premium change that cut diesel are in the 4 November petrol price. The 31 October prices are the starting point for this fall, and every earlier October price is in the October list of OGRA daily prices.

Petrol fell more because the Gulf petrol average dropped by $4.04

Petrol follows the Arab Gulf price for 92 RON petrol. OGRA uses the average of the last seven working days. That average fell from $115.49 a barrel on 4 November to $111.45 on 5 November, a drop of $4.04. The freight premium stayed at $25.52.

  1. 4 November: Gulf petrol $115.49 plus premium $25.52 gave $141.01 a barrel. The landed cost at Karachi was Rs 246.64 a litre, and the pump price Rs 369.06.
  2. 5 November: Gulf petrol $111.45 plus premium $25.52 gave $136.97 a barrel. The landed cost fell to Rs 239.59 a litre.
  3. The pump price: nothing else on the petrol sheet changed, so the Rs 7.05 fall in landed cost passed almost in full to the pump, which went to Rs 362.00.

At OGRA's rate of Rs 276.89 to the dollar, $1 a barrel is about Rs 1.74 a litre. So a $4.04 fall in the Gulf average is worth about Rs 7.04 a litre, which is very close to the Rs 7.06 cut on the sheet. The dollar rate itself barely moved, from Rs 276.91 to Rs 276.89.

Customs duty on petrol stayed at Rs 26.15 a litre. The inland freight margin, which spreads transport costs so the price is the same across the country, stayed at Rs 7.51. The oil company margin of Rs 7.87 and the dealer margin of Rs 9.98 did not change.

Diesel fell Rs 3.71 as Dubai crude eased

Diesel follows a different formula. It starts from the seven day average of Dubai crude, adds Saudi Aramco's monthly premium, a fixed freight cost and a fixed diesel "crack", the gap between diesel and crude. Only the Dubai crude line moved on 5 November.

Aramco premiumminus 4.50minus 4.50
Freight and insurance8.008.00
Diesel crack38.0038.00
Total cost and freight153.70151.58

Dubai crude fell $2.12 a barrel, about half as much as Gulf petrol. That is why diesel fell about half as much, Rs 3.71 a litre. The cost of diesel at Karachi went from Rs 267.91 to Rs 264.20 a litre, and the whole fall reached the pump. How the crack works is explained in the diesel price formula.

Diesel cost build up in Pakistan on 4 and 5 November 2026, with Dubai crude falling to 110.08 dollars a barrel

Because petrol fell more than diesel, the gap between the two fuels widened again, from Rs 22.46 to Rs 25.81 a litre. That is close to where it stood on 31 October.

The petrol levy split is still in place

Petrol still carries a petroleum levy of Rs 80.00 a litre, but only Rs 65.29 is charged at the pump. The other Rs 14.71 is paid by refineries, the same split that began on 31 October. Diesel carries the full Rs 80.00. Both fuels pay a Rs 5.00 climate support levy, and neither pays sales tax.

Levies and customs together are Rs 96.44 on a litre of petrol, about 27 per cent of the price. On diesel they are Rs 100.68, about 26 per cent. The levies are fixed in rupees, so as the price falls they become a bigger share of it. The full tax picture is in the tax in your petrol bill.

What a fill costs on 5 November 2026

A 10 litre petrol fill now costs Rs 3,620.00, which is Rs 70.60 less than on 4 November and Rs 159.10 less than on 31 October. A 50 litre diesel fill costs Rs 19,390.50, a saving of Rs 757.50 since 31 October. Rs 1,000 now buys 2.76 litres of petrol, up from 2.71 litres on 4 November.

Your pump may charge a little more than these figures. OGRA's price excludes "secondary freight", the cost of carrying fuel from the depot to each pump, and that varies by location.

Where we checked, and what comes next

We read the sheet "Effective Dated November 05, 2026" on OGRA's price publications page, and checked every line against the 4 November sheet. We also checked the Petroleum Division home page on the evening of 5 November. Its latest price release was still for 30 October, and it had not posted releases for 3, 4 or 5 November.

When we checked late on 5 November, OGRA had also posted a sheet effective from 00:00 hours on 6 November. It shows petrol at Rs 352.59 and diesel at Rs 382.25, so the fall continues from midnight. OGRA's sheet says the full effect of a change in world prices passes to the pump over seven working days. That is why prices move a little each day instead of jumping once. Nobody can promise the cuts will continue after that.

How we verified this

What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.

We read OGRA's price publications page and the daily sheets for 4, 5 and 6 November 2026 on the evening of 5 November 2026 (PKT). We also checked the Petroleum Division home page, which had no release for 3, 4 or 5 November at that time. Fill costs and the rupee value of $1 a barrel are our own arithmetic from OGRA's figures.
