TikTok Verified Badge in Pakistan: How to Apply for the Blue Tick Free, and the 4 Rules TikTok Checks
TikTok verification is free and followers do not count. Apply in Settings, Account, Verification with news links, and get a reply within 30 days. The rules.

TikTok's blue tick is free, and you apply for it inside the app: Profile, the menu ☰, Settings and privacy, Account, Verification, then Start. Follower count does not matter. TikTok wants an active, real and notable account, and it asks for written news coverage as proof. It replies within 30 days.
We read TikTok's verification help page on 7 November 2026. Its rules are short, but they shut out most people who ask about the badge in Pakistan. The biggest one is the "notable" test: you must be featured in several news sources, and paid or sponsored articles do not count. Anyone selling you a blue tick on WhatsApp is not connected to TikTok, and TikTok says so plainly.
TikTok checks four things before giving a blue tick
TikTok judges an account on four tests: recognised, active, authentic and notable. Followers and likes are not part of the decision. An account with 2,000 followers and real press coverage has a better chance than one with 2 million followers and none.
| Test | What TikTok asks for |
|---|---|
| Recognised | A name, profile photo, bio and at least one public post |
| Active | Logged in to TikTok within the past 6 months |
| Authentic | A real person, business or institution, with proof |
| Notable | Featured in multiple news sources, not paid or sponsored |
| Followers and likes | Not considered |
Authentic means different proof for different accounts. A personal account needs identity verification. A business needs a Verified Business Account or an Organisation Account. An institution, such as a university or a hospital, needs official proof that it is linked to the account.

How to apply for TikTok verification, step by step
The request form lives under Account in Settings and privacy. Have your news links ready before you open it, because TikTok asks for credible written coverage to support the request. Screenshots of your own posts will not help.
- Open TikTok and tap Profile at the bottom.
- Tap the menu ☰ button at the top, then Settings and privacy.
- Tap Account.
- Tap Verification.
- Tap Start, then follow the steps and add links to news articles about you or your brand.
- Wait for the result in your TikTok notifications, within 30 days.
If TikTok rejects the request, the notification shows the reason. You can apply again after the waiting period it gives. Use that time to fix the reason, not just to resubmit the same links.

What counts as news coverage for TikTok
TikTok wants written coverage from credible media that is about you and is current. It rules out sponsored or paid media, social media posts, and outdated or irrelevant articles. A single interview is weak. Several independent reports are what the rule describes.
For a Pakistani creator, that sets a high bar. A paid "feature" on a small blog is exactly the kind of article TikTok says it ignores. A Facebook page post about you is a social media post, so it does not count either.
- Counts: news reports in established newspapers, TV websites or magazines that cover your work.
- Does not count: sponsored posts, paid press releases, your own blog, Instagram or Facebook posts.
- Does not count: old articles that no longer match what you do, or articles where you are only mentioned in passing.
Businesses have a second route to strength. A brand with a Verified Business Account already proves it is real. It still needs to pass the notable test for the blue tick.
Paying for a blue tick is a scam
TikTok does not charge for verification. It says any person or company claiming to sell TikTok verification is not linked to it. TikTok also does not message people by email or DM inviting them to apply, except for government and political accounts.
So a WhatsApp message offering a "guaranteed blue tick" for a fee is a scam on two counts. It asks for money TikTok never charges, and it often asks for your login, which hands over the account. If that has already happened, start with recovering a hacked TikTok account and change your password at once.
| Platform | Blue tick cost | Route |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | Free | Apply in Settings, notable accounts only |
| Facebook and Instagram | Paid subscription | Meta Verified, where available |
| WhatsApp channels | Separate rules | Verified badge for channels |
Meta works differently, which adds to the confusion. Facebook and Instagram sell a badge through a subscription, and Meta Verified in Pakistan has its own price and rules. None of that applies to TikTok.
TikTok can take the badge away
A blue tick is not permanent. TikTok can remove it at any time without notice. The reasons it lists are a username change made without a request, a change of account owner, losing business or organisation status, or repeated or serious rule breaking.
The username point is the one creators trip on. If you have a badge and want a new handle, submit a username update request rather than changing it yourself. The TikTok username change rules already limit how often you can switch.
Selling or handing over a verified account also ends the badge, because it no longer stands for the same person. And if you ever want to drop the badge yourself, open the Verification page and tap the TikTok Support button at the top.
Common questions
How much does TikTok verification cost in Pakistan?
Nothing. TikTok says it does not charge for verification, and anyone selling it is not connected to TikTok.
How many followers do I need for a TikTok blue tick?
None. TikTok says it does not consider followers or likes. It looks at whether the account is recognised, active, authentic and notable.
How long does TikTok take to reply to a verification request?
Up to 30 days. The result comes in your TikTok notifications.
Can I apply again after TikTok rejects me?
Yes, after the waiting period shown with the rejection reason. Fix that reason first.
Why did my TikTok blue tick disappear?
TikTok removes badges after a username change without a request, a change of owner, loss of business status, or serious rule breaking.
Does TikTok message people to offer verification?
No, except for government, politician and political party accounts. Treat any other offer as phishing and report it.
How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
Last checked on 7 November 2026. Every rule, step and removal reason above is from TikTok's verification help page. We did not apply for verification ourselves, and TikTok does not publish how many Pakistani accounts it has verified.
