GEPCO Online Bill Check, and Why the Company Website Will Not Open
Check a GEPCO bill with your 14 digit reference number, or by Customer ID. We tested the portal, and the company website that does not resolve.

To check a GEPCO bill you need one thing: the 14 digit reference number printed on any previous bill.
The portal is at bill.pitc.com.pk/gepcobill. We opened it on 23 August 2026 and it works.
What does not work is GEPCO's own website. We tried three addresses and none of them resolved.
Checking the bill
- Open bill.pitc.com.pk/gepcobill. The page is titled GEPCO Web Bill and is powered by PITC, which runs the billing system for every distribution company except K-Electric.
- Leave the selection on Reference No, which is the default.
- Type the 14 digit reference number. The field will not take more, and it will not take fewer.
- Complete the captcha. There is an image code on the form and it is not optional, which is why no app or bookmark can jump straight to your bill.
- Press Search. The bill loads on screen and can be printed, which is what people mean by a duplicate bill.
There is no login, no account and no fee. If a page asks you to register before showing a bill, it is not this one.
There is a second way to search, and few people use it
The form has two options, and almost every guide mentions only the first.
Alongside Reference No there is a Customer ID option. Selecting it changes what the search box expects.
That matters when the reference number on your old bill is smudged, torn or partly unreadable, which is common on a bill that has been in a drawer for a year. If the reference will not work, the Customer ID is the fallback rather than a trip to the office.
The form also carries a small dropdown offering U and R. We take those to mean urban and rural, but the page does not label them, so we are not going to state it as fact.
What we found when we tested the addresses
| Address | Result on 23 August 2026 |
|---|---|
| bill.pitc.com.pk/gepcobill | Works |
| gepco.com.pk | Did not resolve |
| gepco.gov.pk | Did not resolve |
| www.gepco.gov.pk | Did not resolve |
Those three did not return an error page. They returned nothing at all, which is the difference between a site that is broken and a name that is not currently pointing anywhere.
This is worth knowing because Google still lists gepco.com.pk pages, including a duplicate bill page. Somebody searching the company name in the ordinary way can click a result and land on a dead address, then reasonably conclude the billing system is down. It is not. The bill portal is a different host.
We are describing what happened when we tested, on the date we tested. A domain can come back, and if it does, this page is the one that is out of date.
If the portal says no record found
This is the most common complaint and it is almost never the account.
Count the digits. Fourteen, exactly. It is easy to lose one when reading from a creased bill, and the field silently accepts a short number then finds nothing.
Strip spaces and dashes. People often copy the number from a photograph of the bill where it is printed in groups. The portal wants the digits alone.
Switch to Customer ID. If the reference is genuinely unreadable, this is the other route into the same record.
Allow for a new connection. A meter installed very recently may not be in the billing system for the first cycle, which is not an error you can fix from a browser.
Where GEPCO supplies
GEPCO covers the Gujranwala region. Its jurisdiction includes Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin districts.
We are attributing that to Wikipedia rather than to the company, because the company's own site is where we would normally check it and we could not reach it.
If you are not sure whether GEPCO is your supplier at all, the company name is printed at the top of any previous bill. It follows the city rather than your address within it, so a Sialkot connection is GEPCO even though the portal name says Gujranwala.
Every other company's portal, all tested, is in our guide to checking an electricity bill online in Pakistan.
Once the bill is on screen
Getting the bill is the easy half. Reading it is where the money is.
The line items are not obvious, and several of them are not electricity at all. We break down what each charge on a Pakistani bill actually is in the bill line items explainer.
If the amount looks wrong rather than merely high, that is a separate process with its own evidence requirements, set out in our guide to overbilling. And if the company will not resolve it, the regulator route is in the NEPRA complaint guide.
What we could not verify
We tested the portal and the three company addresses ourselves on 23 August 2026, and the form details above come from the page as served.
We could not publish a GEPCO helpline number. We could not reach a company source for one, and a wrong number on a utility page sends somebody with a fault to a stranger.
We do not know what the U and R dropdown selects, because the page does not say.
We did not enter a live reference number, so we have not seen a returned bill. We are describing the form, not the result.
We could not confirm the service area from GEPCO itself, for the reason above.
Questions readers are asking
How do I check my GEPCO bill online?
Open bill.pitc.com.pk/gepcobill, enter the 14 digit reference number from an old bill, complete the captcha and press Search.
Why will the GEPCO website not open?
When we tested on 23 August 2026, gepco.com.pk, gepco.gov.pk and www.gepco.gov.pk did not resolve. The bill portal is on a different host and was working.
Where is the reference number on the bill?
Printed on any previous bill. It is 14 digits, and the portal accepts exactly that many.
Can I check without the reference number?
The form offers a Customer ID option as an alternative to the reference number.
How do I get a GEPCO duplicate bill?
The bill the portal shows is the duplicate. Print it from the screen.
Why does it say no record found?
Usually a miscounted reference number, or spaces and dashes copied in with it. A very new connection may also not be in the system yet.
Which areas does GEPCO cover?
The Gujranwala region, including Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujrat, Hafizabad and Mandi Bahauddin districts.
