Short answer: Petrol costs Rs 379.31 a litre in Pakistan from Thursday, 22 October 2026, down Rs 2.71 from Rs 382.02 on 21 October. High speed diesel is Rs 390.11, up Rs 0.31 from Rs 389.80. Petrol is now the cheapest of any October sheet we have read.
That is the petrol price today in Pakistan, taken from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) sheet that applies from 00:00 hours on 22 October. OGRA is the regulator that works out fuel prices under the daily pricing system. We downloaded the sheets for 21 and 22 October from OGRA's price publications page on 22 October 2026 and compared them line by line.
Petrol is Rs 379.31 and diesel Rs 390.11 from 22 October
From 22 October 2026, petrol is Rs 379.31 a litre and high speed diesel is Rs 390.11. Petrol fell by Rs 2.71 and diesel rose by Rs 0.31. Petrol is Rs 19.65 below its October high of Rs 398.96 on 9 October.

| Fuel | 20 October | 21 October | 22 October |
|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Rs 381.14 | Rs 382.02 | Rs 379.31, down Rs 2.71 |
| High speed diesel | Rs 389.27 | Rs 389.80 | Rs 390.11, up Rs 0.31 |
Diesel is now Rs 10.80 dearer than petrol, up from a gap of Rs 7.78 a day earlier. The previous sheet is in our report on the petrol price on 21 October, and every sheet this month sits in the list of daily OGRA petrol and diesel prices in October 2026.
A lower Gulf price took Rs 2.71 off a litre of petrol
Petrol fell because the world price in OGRA's average fell. The Gulf petrol average went from $120.35 to $118.80 a barrel, a drop of $1.55. The freight premium stayed at $19.79, and customs duty stayed at Rs 26.31 a litre.
The cost and freight price per barrel therefore fell $1.54, from $140.14 to $138.60. In rupees, petrol landed at Karachi costs Rs 242.08 a litre against Rs 244.79 before, which is the whole Rs 2.71 fall. The rupee average hardly moved, at Rs 277.06 to the dollar against Rs 277.07. The exchange rate adjustment stayed at Rs 0.18.

OGRA uses a seven working day rolling average, so one day's move in the Gulf price does not reach the pump all at once. The method behind each line is in the petrol price formula.
Diesel rose Rs 0.31 because the Dubai crude price edged up
High speed diesel rose Rs 0.31 to Rs 390.11 because the crude price in the average rose from $108.34 to $108.52 a barrel. The diesel crack, the gap between diesel and crude, stayed at $38.00, and customs duty stayed at Rs 15.68 a litre.
Diesel landed at Karachi costs Rs 266.87 a litre, up Rs 0.31 from Rs 266.56. That is the full rise. The same Rs 80 petroleum levy and Rs 5 climate support levy apply to diesel. How the crack is set is in the guide to the diesel crack.
Levies and customs add Rs 111.31 to each litre of petrol
Of the Rs 379.31 petrol price, Rs 111.31 is tax and duty. That is the petroleum levy of Rs 80, the climate support levy of Rs 5 and customs duty of Rs 26.31. OGRA's sheet says petrol is currently exempt from sales tax, so that line is zero.
| Part of the petrol price, 22 October | Rs a litre |
|---|---|
| Landed cost at Karachi | 242.08 |
| Exchange rate adjustment | 0.18 |
| Customs duty | 26.31 |
| Freight equalisation, company and dealer margins | 25.74 |
| Petroleum levy | 80.00 |
| Climate support levy | 5.00 |
| Total | 379.31 |
The levy and customs share is 29.4 per cent of the petrol price. For diesel it is Rs 100.68, or 25.8 per cent. To see the tax inside your own receipt, use the guide to the tax in a petrol and diesel bill.
A fill-up costs Rs 13.55 to Rs 27.10 less than on 21 October
At Rs 379.31, a bike tank of 5 litres costs Rs 1,896.55 and a car fill of 10 litres costs Rs 3,793.10. That is Rs 13.55 and Rs 27.10 less than the same fills on 21 October.

- Pick your litres, for example 5 for a bike or 10 for a car.
- Multiply by Rs 379.31 for petrol or Rs 390.11 for diesel.
- Compare with the figure on your pump screen, which should match the sheet price.
- If a pump charges more, check it on the OGRA pump price list and complain through the steps in the guide to short measure at a petrol pump.
OGRA's sheet price is before the cost of moving fuel from the depot to the individual pump. That is the secondary freight, which the sheet footnote excludes. So a pump far from a depot can differ by a small amount, and any large gap is worth a question.
What the 22 October sheet does not tell us
The sheet gives no forecast. OGRA has already posted a sheet for 23 October, and we read it too: it is in our report on the petrol price on 23 October. OGRA's own note says the full effect of a world price change reaches the pump within seven working days.

How we verified this
What we checked, where we read it, and what we could not confirm.
We read the OGRA daily fuel price sheets effective 21 and 22 October 2026 on 22 October 2026, from the OGRA price publications page. Every figure above comes from those two sheets, and the differences, percentages and fill costs are our own arithmetic. The 21 October figures come from our earlier report. The sheet gives no commentary on why the Gulf price moved, so we do not guess.
