Different Passport Colors

After choosing the types of passport, there are different colors of passports, each holding a different status:

  • Green (Ordinary Passport): Issued to regular citizens for everyday travel.
  • Red (Diplomatic Passport): Issued to diplomats and government officials for official travel.
  • Blue (Official Passport): Issued to government employees for official business.
  • Black (Emergency Travel Document): Issued in special cases, such as for emergency travel.

Note: The issuing authority and eligibility for these vary. Generally, ordinary passports are issued by the Directorate General of Immigration & Passports, while diplomatic, official, and emergency documents are handled through specific government channels.

Number of Pages in Your Passport

You get to select how many pages you want in your passport book. This is directly proportional to how much you plan to travel. Options typically include 36, 72, or 100 pages.

Validity Duration

You also have to choose the validity duration for your passport. You can either apply for a 5-year or a 10-year passport, depending on your needs.

Required Documents to Apply for a Passport in Pakistan

Above 18

  • Evidence of passport fee payment
  • Original CNIC with a copy (or NICOP)
  • Original expired passport with photocopies (if previously issued)
  • NOC if you are a government employee
  • If dual national, bring your foreign passport
  • In case of a lost passport, bring a police report with the passport number

Below 18

  • Evidence of fee payment
  • Parents’ CNIC/Passport originals and photocopies
  • Must apply with a guardian or parent
  • In case of parents’ separation or divorce, a custody paper or court grant is required
  • In case of a guardian, bring a guardian certificate issued by the court
  • If dual national, bring your foreign passport with a copy
  • If either parent is deceased, bring a death certificate with a copy
  • In case of a lost passport, bring a police report for the lost passport with its number

Important Instructions for Minors above and Below 10

  • For minors age 10 or above: Provide the original updated Child Registration Certificate (CRC) with fingerprints and photographs or a juvenile card with a copy
  • For minors below 10 years: Submit the B-Form/CRC or a family registration certificate
