Toyota SURE vs Suzuki Certified Used Cars in Pakistan: What You Get, What to Check
Toyota SURE claims 203 checks and a 1-year warranty. Suzuki certified cars give fewer numbers. Compare both, then do these checks yourself before you pay.

Toyota SURE says its used cars pass a 203-point inspection and carry a 1-year maker warranty. Suzuki's certified used cars are inspected and "backed by warranty", but we could not read a point count or warranty length. Neither scheme replaces your own checks. Verify the owner and tax on your province's portal before you pay.
We read both companies' own pages on 7 November 2026. A company certified car costs more than a private sale, and it can still have a problem no inspection found. What you are buying is a named company you can go back to. Here is what each scheme actually promises, and what you still have to do yourself.
| Point | Toyota SURE | Suzuki Certified Used Cars |
|---|---|---|
| Who runs it | Indus Motor Company and its dealers | Pak Suzuki and its dealers |
| Inspection claim | 203 points | "Thoroughly inspected", no count read |
| Warranty claim | 1-year maker warranty | "Backed by warranty", no length read |
| Trade in | Any car can be exchanged for used certified or new Toyota | Exchange programme with a free valuation offer |
| Models | Toyota cars on its listing site | Alto, Swift, Every, Cultus, Ciaz, Mehran, Bolan, Liana, Wagon R and older versions |

Toyota SURE promises 203 checks and a 1-year warranty
Toyota says it buys and sells used vehicles and checks the best of them on 203 points, with a nationwide warranty from Indus Motor Company. Its own listing site describes a 1-year maker warranty and an inspection report with verified paperwork.
Toyota's page says any car can be exchanged for a used certified or a new Toyota. So you are not limited to trading in a Toyota. A campaign note on the same page mentions a 7-day return guarantee, offered by the authorised dealership under its own terms, for cars bought through that campaign. It also mentions a free one year prepaid maintenance package for financed SURE cars. Those two are campaign terms, not a permanent promise, so ask the dealer whether they still apply to the car in front of you.
Ask to see the inspection report for that exact car, and read what the warranty leaves out. The word "accident-free" appears on the site too, and you should ask how it is checked.
Suzuki Certified Used Cars gives fewer numbers on its page
Suzuki's page says each certified vehicle is thoroughly inspected, approved by experts and backed by warranty. It does not state a point count or warranty length in the text we could read, so ask the dealer for both in writing.
Suzuki's site has a search by model, including older cars such as the Mehran, Bolan, Liana and Wagon R. It also offers a free valuation if you want to sell your Suzuki, and an exchange programme through a separate form. Stock counts by region did not load for us, so do not assume a car is available near you until a dealer confirms it. The Suzuki call centre number on the site is 021-111-789-854.
We also tried to read honda.com.pk for any used car programme, but the site refused our request on 7 November 2026, so we say nothing about Honda here.
A certified label does not replace four checks of your own
Even with a company inspection, confirm the registered owner, the tax position, the chassis number and any bank claim on the car yourself. These take less than an hour and cost almost nothing, and they catch problems the seller may not mention.
- Run the registration number through your province's portal: MTMIS in Punjab, the Excise Sindh app, KP Excise or the Islamabad portal.
- Match the name, chassis number, engine number and tax status on that record with the car and its registration book.
- Look for a bank's name on the registration book. A car bought on lease can carry a bank's claim, and the claim must be cleared first.
- Take the car to your own mechanic, even with an inspection report in hand. Our used car inspection checklist lists what to look at on a ramp.
- Transfer the car into your name after buying. Until then, the old owner stays on record. In Punjab, car ownership transfer has its own steps and fees.

Company certified cars suit some buyers better than others
A certified car makes the most sense for a first-time buyer without a trusted mechanic, or for someone who needs finance. An experienced buyer with a good mechanic may prefer a private sale, and put the price difference aside for repairs.
Compare the asking price against similar cars for sale privately, not against the new price. If the gap is smaller than one major repair, the warranty is probably worth it. If it is much larger, ask what exactly you are getting for it. Get the full figure with any dealer charges in writing.
Also compare the car against a new one. A new Suzuki Alto starts at Rs 2,994,861, and a used car priced close to that deserves a second look. Check the tax on a used car transfer as well, because it is different for filers and non-filers.
Walk away if any of these appear
Refuse to pay if the portal owner differs from the seller and no authority letter explains it, if numbers do not match, if the inspection report is unavailable, or if someone asks you to pay into a personal account.
- The chassis or engine number on the car does not match the record.
- The seller will not let your own mechanic see the car.
- The dealer cannot show the warranty terms in writing.
- Payment is requested to a personal account, not the dealership.
- The car has unpaid token tax and nobody will say who clears it.
If a vehicle you have bought turns out to be stolen, go straight to the police. Reporting a stolen car explains the steps.
