Pakistan officially took a step into the digital future by launching Pakistan first ever dematerialized Digital ID Card. NADRA’s Chairman, Lt General Munir Afsar, officially introduced this new and exciting project, making this announcement a huge step forward for everyone across the country.

What does Dematerialized means?
Dematerialized” means converting the ID card into a digital version, just like an e-wallet that only exists on your phone. This means your ID card will stay with you even when you don’t have your wallet.

Chairman NADRA Lt General Munir Afsar personally launched the dematerialized Digital ID Card initiative on 11th March 2025. He said that this new digital card will simplify everyday life by reducing paperwork and speeding up Identity Card verification.

Now, instead of always carrying around your physical CNIC, you’ll soon be able to verify your identity using your smartphone or other digital devices.
