These trains arrive in Lahore before they leave for Peshawar
None of the three trains starts in Lahore. Each one comes up from the south and stops at Lahore Junction for about half an hour. On our search, Awam Express reached Lahore at 06:50 and left at 07:25. Khyber Mail reached at 20:30 and left at 21:00.
That matters for you. If the train is running late from Karachi or Multan, it will also leave Lahore late. Check the running status before you leave home, and allow extra time at the station. Our guide to checking Pakistan Railways train timings shows how. The full routes are on our pages for Awam Express, Jaffar Express and Khyber Mail.
Seats were tight on some classes. From Lahore, Awam Express had no AC Business seats left, Khyber Mail had no AC Standard berths, and Jaffar Express had just 1 AC Sleeper berth. From Peshawar, Awam had no AC Business and Khyber Mail had no AC Standard. Economy had seats on every train in both directions.
